I think people care but it’s always one day to late. When your dead they care. They say they never saw it coming. even when the signs were right in front of them.
nobody will ever care. not truthfully, they’ll say they do just for the sake of empathy but that’s it, nothing else. and you can’t do jack about it, you’re just not important to anyone…at least I’m not.
it seems like some people do have an inherent caring for others but i dont and it really baffles me.
i like that you’re so straightforward about it. and you’re absolutely right.
@just-a-kid A statistically very small number of people actually do not develop the neural pathways for empathy. So not everybody cares, that’s true. If you meet one of these people, there is a BIG BIG difference between them and regular people. They cannot even read a page of writing properly – things like metaphors go over their heads because you need empathy for context and tone (if you say “Freddie is a pig when he eats” they will literally think you are talking about a pig called Freddie). They are unemotional and unmoved by, say, films because they cannot empathise with the characters. They essentially live in a separate universe because they are also not aware that other people do have empathy – so they have a fucking huge filter for how they interpret the rest of the world.
By the way I’m not suggesting in any way that you are one of those people. I doubt it very highly in fact .
Just wanted to demonstrate though that the majority of people DO have empathy, which means they do care – that is a fact.
