Deserved Guilt is a signal that we have done something wrong which needs to be addressed – as we learn better we do better and that’s the best anyone can do so no point to holding on to Guilt
Undeserved Guilt, having done nothing wrong, is a whole other matter.
Undeserved Guilt can be projected onto us from others and though it feels very personal is more about them. This is really matter of relationship and not Guilt
Most undeserved Guilt however is self inflicted. This guilt is narcissistic in nature where we feel everything that happens is about us and we take ownership of events, emotions outside our responsibility.
This guilt isn’t about getting it right but keeping it wrong.
There is a part of us that never feels right, and shame can often be confused with Guilt.
We are complex creatures and for reasons we may never know carry burdens that do not belong to us
Once the emotion of guilt is felt it has done its job and to stop feeling it requires that you acknowledge it for what it is, recognized you’re human like everyone else, who makes mistakes like everyone else and commit to do better when you can.
@idunno Don’t put yourself down… We all make mistakes, we’re all imperfect… When it’s posible, try and fix the mistakes… But sometimes it’s not posible… All you can do is to learn… learn from your mistakes, in order to not make them again… Also you should try and be more indiferent… Can you talk about what you feel guilty about?
