It’s the old – if a tree falls in a forest and there’s no-one to hear it, does it make a sound. Yes it does. Things don’t have to be observed (let alone observed by humans) to have happened. At least that’s what I think. I could be hopelessly wrong, of course. Just saying.
Sometimes it is the kindness and compassion we show to people who are hurting and down that is remembered. We may not remember their names or faces but we remember that they cared enough to reach out. No one looks at suffering as a great gift but it brings us to a place where we really need to get real with ourselves and our Creator and yes there is healing in our hearts and bodies. The lesson to be learned is to forgive those that have hurt us and move on from that suffering so we can reach out to others. That wouldn’t be possible I believe if we didn’t suffer in the first place.
