“You say you love rain, but you use an umbrella to walk under it. You say you love sun, but you seek shelter when it is shining. You say you love wind, but when it comes you close your windows. So that’s why I’m scared when you say you love me.â€
“Her last conscious thought was disgust at life; her senses had lied to her. The world was not made of energy and delight but of foulness, betrayal, and lassitude. Living was hateful, and death was no better, and from end to end of the universe this was the first and last and only truth.â€

A small trouble is like a pebble. Hold it too close to your eye and it fills the whole world and puts everything out of focus. Hold it at a proper distance and it can be examined and properly classified. Throw it at your feet and it can be seen in its true setting, just one more tiny bump on the pathway to life.
“It is a long autumn twilight, the hour between dog and wolf. Light and dark are mixed, fear mingled with possibility. Between dog and wolf, everything seems to hesitate, everything is neither, until the point when night, like a drawn-out exhalation, spreads over the city“ – Eva Hornung, Dog Boy

I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the LORD, do all these things” Isaiah 45:7
“Somewhere we always resent the loss of freedom that love involves.”
It was that kind of a crazy afternoon, terrifically cold, and no sun out or anything, and you felt like you were disappearing every time you crossed a road.

when you’re not looking, somebody’ll sneak up and write “Fuck you” right under your nose.
“Harold believed his journey was truly beginning. He had thought it started the moment he decided to walk to Berwick, but he saw now that he had been naïve. Beginnings could happen more than once, or in different ways. You could think you were starting something afresh, when actually what you were doing was carrying on as before…. and so the real business of walking was happening only now. “ Rachel Joyce

death held out its arms into a welcoming embrace.â€

I have two poems I love:
Minamoto Yorimasa
1104-1180
Like a rotten log
half buried in the ground –
my life, which
has not flowered, comes
to this sad end.
This second one is my favorite:
Ota Dokan
1432-1486
Had I not known
that I was dead
already
I would have mourned
my loss of life.
