I can’t give a definite answer but I highly doubt hell exists, or heaven for that matter. If they do, then I am very disappointed in God and the Devil, as I believe that would be very immature.
Well, that depends on your status in the Faith (I am sincerely hoping you’re a person seeking Christ).
If that’s where your faith is, I can’t say it’s an irrevocable sin; I’ve considered it, but continue to strive for a God who has put me on Earth for a reason, whatever great or small it ends up being.
If it isn’t, well, I can’t in good faith say “whatever you believe you’ll be fine” because I don’t. It’s not an easy thing to say, but from my understanding, if you’re not in a relationship with Christ Jesus, any sort of death means eternal death, and that will send you to Hell.
In a sugar-coated, “find your own way” world, I can’t come to you in a time of crisis and not state what I believe. And even though my own faith is a struggle, a MASSIVE struggle, it is what I have to hold on to. And I hope, sincerely hope, that even if you’re not choosing to follow the Creator and Savior of the universe, that you can see how dire ending your life becomes. It’s the end of existence. And yes, it’s a great alternative to this sorrowful life on paper, but if that means either an eternity in Hell, or non-existence? Can you risk that? I want to help any way I can, but please, consider anything that isn’t suicide.
For the record, you’re braver than I ever have been. I have many people close to me who I haven’t told about this struggle I have with living.
the real answer is no one knows. if someone knew then we’d all know. the only way to find out is to die. there could be a heaven or a hell or nothing or anything. for all we know theres a room with nothing but legos. religions offer answers of faith (believing without seeing) and no scientist will say with complete certainty how the universe was created. you have to decide for yourself what you believe. if those beliefs include hells or heavens then youll know when you die. or you won’t know. nobody knows.
“…if you’re not in a relationship with Christ Jesus, any sort of death means eternal death, and that will send you to Hell.”
Ah, so, what you’re saying is:
Anyone who doesn’t think what you think, is doomed to eternal ineffable agony.
It’s intriguing that anyone can ever arrive at the notion that such things “help” anyone.
You’re lucky that, lately, people around here seem a little more accepting of “beliefs” than they have been in the past. I say “lucky,” but i guess you’re not obligated to care what “the damned” think, or say.
I find it quite bizarre that anyone considers theism a valid belief, and that somehow, feeling that you must state that people will go to HELL FOREVER, if they “aren’t seeking christ,” is the thing that gives you a feeling of personal validation and purpose.
It further blows my mind that there are just so many of “you people” out there. I don’t want to be around any of you, ever again. That’s a huge contributing factor to the depth, breadth, and general severity of my own suicidal depression, which has persisted throughout most of my life.
So no, OP. There is nothing observable in reality that indicates that anyone will go to hell for suicide, nor that anyone has ever gone to hell for anything. If anything, people experience “living hell,” and then die, and no longer exist to experience anything, or be aware of anything. No awareness, no pain, no pleasure, no memories, no nothing. You won’t even know that you don’t exist, because you would have to exist, to be aware of whether or not you exist.
Basically, there would be lots of pain, anxiety, fear, remorse, sadness, and possibly a sense of relief, knowing “this is the end…” just before it all fades out and stops. Lots of people have “NDE,” during which they experience a final series of hallucinations, meant for either comfort, or distraction, much like people develop delusions or denial, during life, as a defense mechanism against the detriments of being unable to cope with profoundly unpleasant experiences.
I definitely agree on one point Bow_Tie makes:
I think people should try as hard as they can to avoid suicide, and fully, thoroughly consider everything, before deciding it must happen. But sometimes, the reality is that life is just too much for the broken, and that non-existence is better than living hell, with no chance to make it better before the end.
I know a lot of christians who tell me I need to find “my lord and savior jesus christ”. The more they explain the afterlife to me the more i hate religion. How could any god be all knowing and loving in regards to his creatures if he “created” all of us. If he did does that mean he built in the suicidal thoughts?
I don’t know about everyone else on here, but I’d rather burn for eternally, than exist in an afterlife with a god who condemns the people ive lost in life to suicide to hell. Then again I don’t believe in god and even less in Jebus.
So OP. My answer is this: The answer to your beliefs can be answered based on your own beliefs. We don’t know what you believe. If you feel that suicide is a deadly sin, then you have answered your own question. It’s not easy for religions or the general population to accept suicide. Normally they pity us and say we shouldn’t do it that we’ll burn, or that it’s a cowardly thing. Now if your question was meant as a question about our opinions on suicide being an unforgiveable sin. Well I don’t think it is. What “powerful and omnipotent” god would be so cruel? If god is as wise and powerful, would he not understand why you did it? And if not then he is not a god and you need not worry. This is just my opinion though.
