I meant show me you care enough to stay.
I said I’m just cold.
I meant I didn’t want you seeing the scars.
I said I was better.
I meant I have never been this bad.
I said I’m okay.
I meant I want to die.

Hey there, no one is a mind reader, no one is going to try to see beneath your facade. Be realistic – no one is going to suspect anything unless you tell them. If you lie, then of course people are going to believe what you say – why shouldn’t they? If you’re not giving them signs that you’re in trouble then no one is going to try to help you. If you want someone to care and recognize you’re in pain TELL THEM. If you don’t feel comfortable with telling them, then there’s no use waiting for them to notice – because they won’t. No one is going to reach out to you unless you show them that you need help.
Exactly the way I feel inside and how I usually express it on the outside…thanks for sharing this.
