in no way do I condone there acts, just am trying to learn or understand if the columbine shooters planed their deaths before hand or just on the spur of the moment did they create a situation where it was the only option I find it interesting if they commitied the acts knowing they were going to die y not just kill themselves and not take out so many kids ,

They had pre-recorded a video for their friends and family, apologising and saying goodbye, 30 minutes before the attack and then counted up to 3 in unison before shooting themselves (after shooting all the others). Seems planned to me.
I don’t condone it either but I sure as hell understand why they did it…. every day people kept fucking with them relentlessly and for some people it hits a nerve and triggers a rage that is unlike anything we have ever seen before. I think they were already having problems and taking medication so a combination of all those things just resulted in their actions. If they were going to do it they should have targeted the people who made their lives hell but I guess they figured everyone was guilty because nobody stopped it from happening and probably laughed at it when it did happen….I wish someone had the courage to stand up for them then maybe it wouldn’t have happened but they planned it out….that was no spur of the moment thing they knew going in that day was the last one they would see…. They just went out and took innocent people with them to get their rage out before they left which was wrong.
They planned it, almost too well. If their bomb making skills would have been trained skills, they would have taken out half the school. They planned it just like a military OP in their video games. Watch any of the documentaries out there.
Well, there is a cult classic movie called “Heathers” it came out in the 1980’s. One of the shooters fancied himself as a J.D type. He even wore the same jacket J.D did in the movie. EVERYTHING in that movie is almost exactly like what happened in Columbine. If you watch that movie you’ll get a glimpse of what was going on in their head.
Heathers was a great satirical film. I never made the connection with Columbine. Hm.
Is that the one with Winona Ryder in it?
If you want to know about why these kids did the shooting, do a google search of their names. It’s a bit more complicated than you’d think.
@noonoo Yes.
Really? I just saw the movie this year and when I watched it, it gave me chills. I remember watching on youtube homemade videos the “real” columbine boys did and it was kind of eerie how their whole plight was kind of like J.D’s. Makes me glad I never went to HS. What a horrible place.
You never went to high school?
I went to public high school for one year and I just found it really annoying, and mildly boring. I can now empathize with cows in industrial farms thanks to that experience. Which leads me to my main point; beer is tasty.
Nope. Otherwise, I know, I would have gotten into the wrong crowd and probably did a lot of things I would regret. I often had thoughts of slamming peoples head in their lockers during jr high. I did want to inflict pain on others, because of the feeling of being an outcast and what have you. I wasn’t emo, I wasn’t goth, I wasn’t anything but a bland piece of suicidal and homicidal wallpaper.
If you would have asked anybody they would have said I was so nice and sweet. Just goes to show you can’t judge a book by their cover.
@lorax and @quoththeraven
Were you private schooled or home-schooled?
quoththeraven – have those feelings dissipated since?
I tried online schooling, but it was a crock. I ended up getting my GED. People were pretty surprised when I passed my GED test the first time. Considering I made straight F’s in school.
Yes, and no. The only thing that has changed is I don’t feel like I’m “weird”. I feel like I have a better chance of finding people to connect with now then I did at school. Plus, legally, I’m an adult. There is no limits.
@noonoo: both. Public school is, in my experience, the worst crime ever perpetrated on anyone, ever. It doesn’t surprise me that some people in that system snap and kill bunches of people. If I had stayed more than a year, I’d probably have done the same thing.
@quoththeraven
Did you go onto any kind of further education after that?
I like what you said – “Iรขโฌโขm an adult. There is no limits”. ๐
Seems a bit off to me.
@lorax
What made public school so bad for you?
Was it the kid taking a shit in the corner of your English class?
I don’t think it’s that bad. There aren’t many rules. Well way less than what I’m used to naturally. I’ve never had difficulty meeting people and holding a conversation (until recently). And the school stuff is piss easy. It’s preferable to the shit I’ve been doing repeatedly for the past 6/7 weeks.
As I said in another posting on this thread:
“I went to public high school for one year and I just found it really annoying, and mildly boring. I can now empathize with cows in industrial farms thanks to that experience. Which leads me to my main point; beer is tasty.”
Fuck public education. ‘Nuff said.
Really annoying and mildly boring. I’d take that. Then again, I can very easily entertain myself, so the boring part wouldn’t make much of an issue.
It’s more the analogy between public schools and industrial farms that I’d point to. I am not a cow. I do not moo. Public schools are examples of the entire reason I despise western society. I half hope China nukes us and burns all our cities into a rubble.
I did have a math tutor for a month. But, other then that… no. Science, Social Studies, and English I’m naturally good at. I don’t have really have to study.
@lorax were you ever tested for ADHD? (not dissing you) just curious.
@noonoo12 are you still in school, or, what’s your story?
ADHD, OCD, among other diagnoses. ๐ Indubitably.
@lorax did it come back positive or negative? lol
@quoththeraven
That’s pretty good then. ๐
I’m still in school, yes.
@ noonoo Do you suffer with thoughts of bashing peoples skulls into their lockers, or, are you pretty popular?
Positive on all counts. Haha..
@lorax that explains the boredom. See I got bored at school to, but I am very conditioned to deal with being quiet and sitting still even if I don’t like it… whereas if you are adhd and what not.. you can’t do it, it’s impossible. So, it makes sense now your comment.
@quoththeraven
I wouldn’t say I’m popular, but I’m not a part of the “outcast” crowd.
And we don’t have lockers, so that’s not an option. ๐
The people at my school don’t really bother me much. If they do, it’s usually because they have a problem with me (mostly because of my colour – lots of racists at my school). But in the end, that just goes away, because I somehow manage to piss off people enough to make them swing for me. Then we fight, as kids do.
The way things work, it’s organised. Just secretly organised.
Public education for me was less education, and more shuffling around from one room to another, and wondering wtf the point of being confined inside a building with a herd of other kids doing the same thing as me was. I didn’t really care about the schoolwork because I was never given a good reason to care about it – it was just there, so it needed to be done, or some crap like that. I was never in any crowd, I was just me. And I prefer a day fishing on a lake or catching snakes to doing mindless busywork in a classroom. ๐
@noonoo NO, lockers???
Schools (in my area) have, on the most part, given up trying. They don’t give a shit about what you do in the classroom as long as you pass your exams. Which isn’t especially hard.
@nooonoo it is hard if you can’t read LOL
Yeah, we have to carry our shit around. Seeing as I take nothing to school but money and food, I don’t mind.
I’m in England. I haven’t been to many schools that do have lockers.
England!? I sooo want to go.
They put you in a “special school” if you can’t read, so you don’t have to do the exams.
The grass is always greener…
I just want to visit, don’t want to live, if that’s ok lol
I should have faked it then, then I would have also got disability … damnit why did I have to show I could read, write, and talk.
I doubt you’d get disability. Just “extra help” from what I’ve heard.
Well, here, the short bus is standing room only… so, I don’t they have enough extra hands.
No, I meant that you’d have someone to read to you and scribe for you.
That’s ludicrous.
Okay…
