I’ve always enjoyed travelling, especially travelling on long distance buses or trains,  just watching the scenes outside the window flew by, there is a sense of calmness to it by being still on this side of the window, and a feeling of safety.  whatever happens outside  the window is just a passing scene,  the beautiful, the dirty, the boring, the spectacular……..just passing away, passing away at a fast speed.  nothing mattered.  the dreary part is arriving, especially at strange big cities, now must get on my feet and get out and be involved with the scenery, it’s scary, uncomfortable, lonely…….how nice would it be to be able to stay on a bus/train forever, just let it carry all the weight and just enjoy the scenery without ever getting off.

Yes, I know exactly how you feel.
One if the reasons why I love the window seat in a plane, I also travel a lot… Last week i flew back from Chile to Belgium via Panama, US and Swiss bcuz i love it so much! luch cheaper than a direct flight btw, thanks i thought i was the only one c:
I agree …. I remember being on the greyhound when I was younger and just watching the big stretches of green pass by while listening to music…. It really does provide a calming feeling.
@quoththeraven: ……that feeling of being carefree is so precious, too bad though, all trips must end at some point
@KVH: yeah, I always try ‘n take window seat when I travel. Airplane is okay, but if I can, I’d rather travel by land, on the Earth. be at eye level with the scenery. it’s a different feeling in the air, high above….although I do remember flying over the rocky mountains when it was clear, that was just breathtaking
@PainNlife: Yes, I took the greyhound bus from Chicago to Vancouver once, it was a very very long journey, but enjoyed it, especially the middle part, just flat open land. this is something I’ll miss from this life that’s for sure.
