In my view one should never threaten in the name of the high power. I am religious, i believe that many of the great religions figure heads existed on this earth and did great things for all. The teachings of these great people have been distorted by insecure individuals or those hiding behind money and power to have their will imposed upon the earth. My god is all loving and all forgiving. We are here to learn and help other. I do not believe in cutting this trip short as it robs us of learning experiences. If my god will not show mercy on souls that are the most down, then i refuse with conviction any mercy that may be bestowed on my soul(not that i am deserving). I will follow these outcasts no matter where they go. I will not give up. All i ask is the strength to never stand in the way of the healing of a person/soul. These people here do not need cliches, they need true friends, that listen and love unconditionally. That means no threats spoken or thought. Please, think this over. Your God can send me to eternal damnation. I will die on my feet before i live on my knees. Then i will do what i need to do.
I didn’t mean for it to be taken as a threat. Dear brother, while our souls are eternal, no matter where our ultimate destination; I meant this little pain compared to eternity in paradise. I should have made myself more clear!
My grandmother committed suicide a few months ago.
Your entire perception is negative, friend. If you do, say, and perceive the way you always have, you will remain in a self destructive cycle and get the same results. I do know because I have been there. I am here if you want to talk.
That pains me to hear about your grandmother. … I do believe in a hear after, But that is just belief. Many do not, that is their belief. Neither can be proven yet. I have myself said things that too me seem inspiring. Sort of like the “cowboy up” idea. My ideology was flawed to the same extreme of those i saw contemplating suicide. Now, as i learn by listening without prejudice to the stories of these peoples lives ,and by asking them to explain to me, to teach me how and why they are at this place in their lives, can i start to understand. There is no cookie cutter solution. Everyone of these people hold much potential. With enough, reading, listening, writing and being there for these people, i may become better at unlocking their locked away full potential. Time will be my judge. I do not know your grandmothers challenges, but i can tell you i would of offered her the best positive support that i am capable of as of today.
Compared to eternity of nonexistence? This pain is infinitely greater than zero; even if not compared.
Comparatively speaking, nonexistence would be paradise. I don’t know anything better, with which to compare paradise. Nonexistence is probably the best possible scenario.
You know there is no nonexistance. Maybe sleep.
Do you think you came to exist out of randomness?
You know that isn’t possible. You were created. You are eternal.
Accept it.
God is REAL. And He is very, very BIG.
What you call “randomness” is not exactly as “random” as you may think. Not everything you don’t understand is automatically chaos.
It’s not only “possible” that there is no god, and that our existence ends entirely when we die… but it is actually most likely.
I was “created” by my father’s sperm and my mother’s egg.
This is the truth of “creation.” We are all only here because our parents fucked (except for those of us whose mothers slipped in showers, or were otherwise accidentally inseminated…)
You can make assertions and declare them true; so can i.
Yes, male and female procreate… I was thinking a little farther back than that.
Where did the original male and female come from? Random strands of protein in a primordial soup combining to form amino acids and then forming DNA which contains a PROGRAM of the physical form of this SENTIENT awareness contained within?
Well we didn’t exist before birth so technically before birth we were in a death state. So meaning once we die we just go back to the death state of non existence like before birth. It technically doesn’t have to be a “Death” state, I just needed a word to label it.
I would never force my will upon you. If i were to, that would be violence. Just like torture. I am learning to not be violent and hurtful. I respect your opinion on God. There may be nothing after this. That is opinion. The truth is your inner potential is so brilliant it is blinding to me. You write the most challenging arguments. You Make me critique my beliefs to the foundation with your (most of the time) objective views. Individuals that i know like you have helped save me from myself. i am going to work at trying to return the favor
Not to say nothing is amazing about that, but it’s still better to consider the available information, rather than leaping to a supernatural conclusion that isn’t supported by anything but ancient anecdotes, built from even more ancient rehashed stories.
If we just default to “supernatural!” then we’ll never be able to understand anything, which means very slow or nonexistent progress toward eliminating the source of what causes people to create problems for each other. People should stop doing that.
Consciousness was a product of evolution, if you were intelligent you would see that not many insects are particularly sentient nor are plants. Why didn’t God give them brilliant self awareness like humans or other intellectual beings? Sentience was developed because it aided us in survival, animals that did not require particularly strong sentience to reproduce and live did not develop it. It was no “Gods” doing.
(that was in response to HealingInHisWings’s reply… i now realize it could be perceived as an astonishingly arrogant reply to OnlyLOVEisReal’s comment, which wasn’t yet showing on my page, when i wrote the above…)
Maybe you just don’t remember, Koji… Or maybe you were sleeping. Maybe you are sleeping now, and that before state is the awakened state. Lol, this reminds me of the movie, Waking Life. Have you seen it? If you haven’t, look it up. 🙂
SB, that still doesn’t explain where it BEGAN. Where did everything around you COME from?
It is too complex to be random, sweetheart.
I don’t have an issue with evolution. It is contained WITHIN creation. 🙂
Lots of people concoct all sorts of entertaining fantastical “theories” about the nature of existence… many of which seem to aim precisely for invalidating this one and only evidenced state of existence, as if to make us feel like it’s not a big deal if it’s almost entirely terrible. Because hey, reincarnation, or heaven, or whatever, right? So that would mean “this” isn’t even that important, since (as often fantastically asserted) “death isn’t the end.”
But i’m pretty sure it is the end, which is why i get so outraged when i have to suffer because of something someone else chose to impose upon me. Now i’m stuck with the affliction of an unacceptable affront, for the duration of the only existence i can be sure that i will have. Desperation leads people to “believe” that there is more than this, because they can’t handle the idea that their only chance to exist, has been ruined, for some stupid or unfair reason, or even none at all; “just because they can.”
Yes, imagine an ETERNITY to pursue your interests. No hurry, no deadline. You might spent eons contemplating and learning about one thing. You have as much time as you need, with no negative influence, and constantly OVERFLOWING with life and joy, like water being poured into a glass that is already full. So you are limited only by what you can contain.
Uh, no. There is absolutely nothing about randomness that limits potential complexity. If anything it is ORDER and “creation,” that cannot be “too complex.” Random can be infinitely complex, as long as it’s not limited by finite time or resources.
“Random,” can, in fact, be SO COMPLEX, that lots of people are unable to even grasp the meaning of the notion… and therefore misunderstand it entirely.
But like i said: it’s not exactly “random.”
Things interact and react with other things, not based on “random,” but based on physics (real physics, not merely the limited human concept which attempts to understand how things work).
The only thing that’s “random” about it, is that the right materials made it into the right circumstances to produce what was not random at all, under those circumstances.
You can imagine “eternity” all you want. Doesn’t make it real. I struggle to reconcile how you can think “random” is “too complex,” while sitting there speaking of “ETERNITY,” as if a literally unlimited amount of time, somehow makes sense, in any context.
The idea of eternity is too complex for reality. Infinity cannot exist in a real and finite world(universe) with limited amounts of material.
Clever name, it is the negative influence, the LIE, we must deal with here in this world. So the answer, my friend, is not to belong to this world, isn’t it?
Well i mean, i could see the allure of having an invulnerable consciousness that isn’t subjected to any suffering, but remains capable of unraveling the vast and deep mysteries of all of existence… but that’s just such a fantastical concept, and i don’t see how anyone can think that is actually a reasonable thing to think is actually true. It doesn’t make sense to think that’s true; it does make sense to fantasize about it, and wish it could be true.
Koji, I’m sure it is different when the negativity is removed.
And at this point in time, the negative, or EVIL, if you will is very strong.
Because its time is short. The way you feel is perfectly understandable.
The hurt is REAL.
“with limited amounts of material” What about that guy that said, matter can not be created nor destroyed, just transformed”? What is your view on that? Has this theory been validated or dismissed?
Koji, evil is the rebellion.
It is allowed to run its course to prove that rebellion from God is not the answer.
There is no war. Evil is already defeated. As Jesus said, “It is finished”
All that remains is for it to run its course. And the closer it gets to the end, the greater its rage.
Revelation 21:4
King James Version (KJV)
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
claiming that “remove the negativity from yourself” is the answer, is tantamount to “blaming the victim.” Attitude adjustments only go so far. Should i be “positive” about all the choices other people make that make life harder, nay, impossible for me to enjoy? No! I shouldn’t! Because they are choosing to impose their will upon my environment, which inflicts an unwanted negative condition upon my life, and reduces the potential enjoyment or fulfillment it can produce! And you know what? Being “nice” to everyone, does not fix the people who intend to exploit every nice person they can find. It only makes you a more vulnerable target. Which means more bad things are put on you, against your will, by other people. Which means more negativity, and more being blamed for being negative about people doing negative things to you.
It’s like if i light you on fire and then blame you for being flammable, if you complain. Don’t like burning? Nevermind that i intentionally immolated you, the real solution is that you should just stop being so flammable all the time. Then you wouldn’t have to worry about people setting you on fire. It’s totally your fault, for being too negative, and thus, flammable… and thus, burning alive. It has nothing to do with the people who go around setting others on fire, knowing that most people are indeed flammable.

Ephesians 6:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I don’t think we can really reach a conclusion as to whether we understand “all matter,” since we have such a comparatively small sample of the universe’s material, by which to judge, and with which to experiment.
If matter is finite, then it had to come from “somewhere.”
And the relationship between matter and energy is… important… but beyond my technical qualifications.
Is it possible that all matter can be converted (with or without “loss”) to energy? Is it possible that all energy can be converted to matter? If there is a finite amount of matter, does that mean there is a finite amount of energy?
Of course “the rebellion is evil.” That’s exactly what they want the followers to be taught. You don’t want to be the evil, so don’t rebel against the group telling you how to think and what you’re not allowed to do!
I am speaking primarily about the original rebellion of the fallen angels against God, not the groups of people influenced by spiritual forces, which is EVERYONE.
Peter 5:8
King James Version (KJV)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Energy is actually the capacity to change matter. So energy isn’t matter. But as for their being a infinite or finite amount of energy really depends on the type of energy. A chunk of magnesium being thrown can be kinetic energy but placed in water creates a exothermic reaction resulting in a form of thermal energy.
Suffering exists because this world is owned by an evil force, a force that was thrown out of another realm, now controls this world.
Jesus came to offer an escape from that, but not an escape in this life because this life is not what really matters. Eternity matters, where your spirit goes once your body is dead.
It somed won to free will. Either you accept God as your creator/savior, or you do not.
There is nothing complicated about this all, its either uou choose A or B.
Look around you…. the evil flourish, there is a reason for that.
The good suffer because God is good and everything He made is good, and evil and its’ forces seek to destroy it.
He’s good but I like more old and traditional country. But some of the new stuff is good Luke Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley. But Im more of a Jackson, Garths and Randy Travis kind of country. 🙂
*my views can not be proven, so my actions will have to stand in for my beliefs
My delusional view is, only love is real, all else is the absence of love. My God is unconditional love. I fail to be as unconditional as God. I will work towards it. Maybe in a hundred lifetimes or more i may be much better at it. Until then i will listen to all people that i can.
If god decides who gets in and who doesn’t there doesn’t seem much use for having middle men on Earth. What if those who you might assume would end up in heaven don’t and those you wouldn’t expect do. It would contradict the interpretation of right/wrong good/evil. Does that create a dilemma in that either you know more than god or you’ve misguided people into taking the wrong path.
That is a good question, Duke. While I do not have all the answers (I am a work in progress)… Perhaps this verse will help to answer your question:
Romans 2:13-16
New King James Version (NKJV)
13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; 14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) 16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
Does that imply you don’t necessarily have to believe in Jesus to get through the pearly gates? That was my interpretation. But if so, they why is it still necessary. I thought that was Christianity’s main weapon.
You sure know the bible like the back of your hand which is impressive.
Well, Jesus did say that none shall come to the father but through Him…
But there is this also:Mark 9:38-40
King James Version (KJV)
38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
The people before Jesus had Horus, Krishna, Dionysas, Mithras and many other deities that posses the same identical story as Jesus. But these gods or prophets lived hundreds and ever thousands of years before Jesus did. The Jesus story is actually a direct reflection of these gods. (Born a virgin, performed miracles, died and then ressurected). These gods were used as explanations to astrological ovcurances, such as night and day and the seasons.
Hebrews 13:8
King James Version (KJV)
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Jesus was with the Father from the beginning.
Time is a theoretical construct… I don’t think it applies to God.
He doesn’t say I was or I will be… He says I AM….
Exodus 3:14 – And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Ok so it would be interesting to get the views of experts on this site to interpret the bible and find out what happened to people before Jesus arrived.
it is impressive the one that preached love and forgiveness before the time of Jesus, The stories of their origins also closely related. That is why i will not bow down to the catholic church even though i was raised catholic. I will Bow to Jesus and all other People that are pure in heart. Maybe some day with each others help we will all be pure in heart and action.

Amazing how you can manage to belittle our feelings AND try to scare us into believing in your bullshit with arguments similar to pascal’s wager.
PS, I won’t reply after this, so as to cease “feeding the trolls”
Cowboy boots, Jesus & country music all make me want to die.
Wait…am I in hell right now?
Dear Healinginhiswings,
In my view one should never threaten in the name of the high power. I do not know your grandmothers challenges, but i can tell you i would of offered her the best positive support that i am capable of as of today.
You know a negative mindset will never lead to healing.
We all must CHANGE OUR MINDS. I realize this is harder than it sounds.

Right now my favorite country singer is Brantley Gilbert, but it changes a lot.

He’s good but I like more old and traditional country. But some of the new stuff is good Luke Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley. But Im more of a Jackson, Garths and Randy Travis kind of country. 🙂
I know all those old songs. I’m 38, so I was around back then… lol
But yeah, Paisley is great too. How about this one:

@wifeisgone,
*my views can not be proven, so my actions will have to stand in for my beliefs
My delusional view is, only love is real, all else is the absence of love. My God is unconditional love. I fail to be as unconditional as God. I will work towards it. Maybe in a hundred lifetimes or more i may be much better at it. Until then i will listen to all people that i can.
This is my all time favorite country song.. even though its really sad. Its something I relate to though.

I had never heard that one, Koji… Its good, if a bit depressing… But we all know that’s life!
That is why Jesus wasn’t religious. The religious leaders of His time, in His own words, “served their father the devil…”
So yes, sometime things are not what they seem.
Don’t be religious. Just learn about Jesus.
What happened to the people before Jesus. Did they end up in paradise too?
Matthew 11:29 (KJ21)
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
The Koji,
it is impressive the one that preached love and forgiveness before the time of Jesus, The stories of their origins also closely related. That is why i will not bow down to the catholic church even though i was raised catholic. I will Bow to Jesus and all other People that are pure in heart. Maybe some day with each others help we will all be pure in heart and action.
