You adore his work because he is the best poet. And he wouldn’t be known as he is if he wasn’t that good. My favorite quote by him is “I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.”
My favorite quote is “I have, indeed, no abhorrence of danger, except in its absolute effect – in terror.” I half blame a teacher I had years ago, he forced poe onto us and not many kids in middle school were fond of his stuff.
