You know how, when you actually do sleep, you end up sleeping on your arm? You know that feeling when you wake up, like the arm isn’t there, but you know it is? Well, I no longer hurt…I’m just that “dead-arm”.
Do you also shudder, tremble and suddenly reawaken with the force of an atomic bomb after ten minutes? That’s usually what happens with my “dead” arm, so if that happened with you…I’d run like a ninny to my nearest police station and request an EOD team.
Although one time I completely forgot my arm was there, I woke up and it flailed past me like some lifeless octopus tentacle. I laughed until it swung back around and slapped me square in my face. I wish I had that on video.
Remember its “that dead arm feeling”, hence your not completely immune nor desensitized to feeling, your simply feeling a feeling of temporary numbness.
Like all feelings/emotions, most are temporary and another feeling/emotion will ensue, maybe more exaggerated after such a numbing episode.
Understand that feeling nothing and simply masking and numbing pain and emotions only keeps you static and poses no benefit to you except lost time. Best way to tackle situations is to bear the full brunt and ugly face of it so you can learn and grow from it.

Crap, I’ve paid good money to lose my feelings. But as Mysterious said the shit comes back.
