I know this feel all to well. When I think about it, companionship is what I really desire. Now…if only I could snap out of this hostile, self-imposed isolation of mine…
Saying your happy and being genuinely happy are two different things. But genuinely happy people can be good roll models. You can observe how they react in frustrating circumstances and see what kind of judgments they make about themselves and others. Often times, they give the benefit of the doubt. They don’t personalize everything and make it about them. And they don’t reveal or unload too much about themselves. They are interested in others and frequently can find joy in the moment and drink it in.
These are the genuine folks worth seeking out and emulating, not the phonies who feign happiness to position themselves.
