I’m not a fan of polygamy, so nets aren’t an option (as long as they don’t start with inter). That also settles the problem with the boat’s size since there is enough room for a single fish, just not for many.
I could also use TNT for fishing, that way I can choose whoever I like without needing their consent. Ok this sounds like rape..
Well, you only “keep” the ones you want. You don’t have to… consume, more than one fish at a time. But it’s hard to be selective if you’re only catching one fish every year or two. Get a net, indiscriminately catch as many as possible, pick whatever seems good; keep what holds up under scrutiny. Build an awesome, lavish aquarium at home, and the fish will like it. Or something.
If you’re dead set on the idea of catching the perfect fish with a one-by-one approach, i will suggest scuba gear and a harpoon, rather than casting lines from a boat floating upon the surface. If you want that good fish, you gotta get geared up, go deep, walk(swim) right up to it, and shoot it in the gills.
And i wouldn’t use TNT, unless you’re into necrophilia or cripples; neither of which sound appealing to me, the former of which is ruled out with scientific certainty (~99.999%… BUT MAYBE! though probably not).
@clever: “if you’re only catching one fish every year or two.”
I’d be lucky if I were able to do that. I would probably be harpooned by other divers before I’d even be close to seeing better fish in the pond. Or even harpooned by the fish itself, what I nice way to die.
@SB: I AM the bait. How am I supposed use a better bait then?
Also I have tried a lot of different ponds, I guess either the bait sucks or the fish are too blind to see the bait.
Women will advertise they are looking for some set of qualities, say X.
You, the bait, match said qualities, so you cast your line.
The problem is, the woman is also looking for qualities Y, which she doesn’t advertise, so as not to appear shallow or something. Also these Y qualities are actually more important than the X qualities.
She looks at your bait, you don’t satisfy Y, she ignores you.
Then she complains she can’t find a guy with X qualities. When in actuality she can, it’s just those Y qualities she’s not willing to admit.
And so as not to seem sexist, i’ll assume guys do the same thing too.
You can change yourself, evaluate yourself, if you can;t think of anything wrong with you there probably isn;t and you should look somewhere else for women who can appreciate a good person. If there’s a flaw you need to dedicate yourself to changing that. Some things cannot be solved, but almost everything can be compromised
I dunno, if you want to catch a big’un, you gotta dump loads of chicken blood in the water and get your pokin’ stick out. You just wait right there, watchin’ them fish swim ’round yer chicken blood, then when one gets close enough, SMACK ‘EM.
How are you? I remember you posting a while back that you were abstaining from this site cause you’re not sure if it is doing any good, or helping with the depression (or whatever you’re going through). So in that sense, I am sorry to see you back.
It was actually a poignant question you posed, one which I never consciously thought about. But I guess reading the stories & poetries of like-minded i.e. depressed & suicidal people helps me to feel less of a recluse.

He’s doing it wrong.
No fish wants to be THE ONE FISH caught by the ONE-FISH-BAIT.
ALL fish want the bait without the hook, and if they get hooked, they want to know it was a hook “any” other fish would have swallowed just as well.
You can “hack” this problem by using nets instead of a single baited line.
But, uh, you’ll need a bigger boat.
You know, that’s not where i intended for this metaphor/analogy to go, but it went there, naturally; kinda like “fish” do.

Looks like you’ve got to use better bait or try another pond!
It’s interesting how they’re all facing away from the direction of the hook. The fish are rebelling!

Oops, I’m not sure if it’s the same person/ profile. Or that you deleted the past posts.
