We just had a 6.0 earthquake-holy fuck!Very disturbing…whole house shook side to side for several seconds.VERY loud…..I dragged my kids out of bed.We are waiting for aftershocks….
Shouldv seen the ridiculous scramble for our pets..Poor cats and dogs-we scared the Jesus out of them throwing th cats into one big crate(3) and the pugs were like”yay!we are going for a walk in th middle of th night!!” They were very disappointed..lol
I’ve never been in an earthquake. I’ve been through lots of tornados but there’s something about an earthquake that seems really unnerving. I need the world around me to be stable if I have any chance.
Glad all is well, despite freaked out cats and disappointed dogs.
Ive felt several much smaller earthquakes when I lived in Monterey, but NOTHING like this-it is a very helpless feeling..Tornadoes scare the hell out of me,though!Ive been near two diff tornadoes in Florida, and then Mississippi, and the destruction is so shocking..I admit I like to watch them online with my boy:) theyre amazing.
Yeah, when I was a kid, the house we lived in was almost impaled by a tree. It brought about a rather large limb and drove it into the ground like a giant lawn dart just feet from the house. If it had been over about 15-20 feet and driven with enough force, it might have went straight through to the spot in the basement where we were waiting for the storm to end. Coming outside and seeing that was something else.
I watched a movie called “The Exorcist” when I was about 12 years old. It scared the living begeezus outta me. I had a difficult time falling asleep that night but eventually I did.
The next morning I woke up because my bed was shaking violently. The windows were rattling and everything in my bedroom was shaking. My first thought was “aaaahhh! I’m possessed by an evil spirit”.
After about 3 seconds I realized it was just another earthquake. I couldn’t help but laugh at how silly I’d been for confusing the movement of tectonic plates with demonic activity. I laid there in bed and enjoyed the remainder of the ride.
I like earthquakes.
I take it your in NorCal, but eeeesh I absolutely dread earthquakes especially the 6.0 kind. Glad you and your puppies and kitties are ok. I hope you all remain safe and well over the course of the remaining aftershocks.
I heard that earthquake was felt all the way south to Santa Cruz?
When I was 12 I played with tarot cards and the it got really windy out side and my friend said I think we should stop playing with the tarot cards We did and the wind stopped that’s creepy, spooky, freaky eerie, weird

DROP – COVER – HOLD!
I hate the shakes. Keep yourself and the kids safe, Missy.
I hope everybody is okay – people, pets, and whatnot. It’s hard enough being unstable mentally/emotionally with the ground knocking you over too.
Thank you both!!Holy shit it felt very big…zanex would really hit the spot:)

That made me laugh. If I’m ever in an earthquake, I’ll try to think it’s just that I’m possessed. Who knows?! Maybe I am! 🙂
