im not gonna do this list in narcisstic way. i feel not good when i hear drum sounds or electric guitar. i dont know why. maybe because when i feel drowning deep i dont want to hear some rich man beating his drums. if you can relate to this, you can check this list. it has been very helpful to me. i just leave it here, for visitors, for members.

*sniffle* no Bach? Ok vivaldi is close 😀
i could considered to add bwv 996. but i try to pick only short and good ones.
One of my favorite recent Bach pieces is bwv 582: Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor. 21 variations in the passacaglia. In 7 groups of 3. Prime goodness! After all that, he takes the theme and launches right into a double fugue. Consisting of 12 variations. Note 21 in the passacaglia, 12 in the fugue. Always playing with numbers it seems…
That guy was nuts.
#9 sounds like Brian Eno and Boards of Canada had a baby. Haha. Besides who could resist a band called “Depressive Silence” that falls under “Dark Ambient / Dungeon Synth from Germany”.
It’s kind of strange, but listening to that list has me thinking you must be a Rimsky fan.
im listening 582 right now. and you are a good observer. i had been listening rimsky everytime when i was turning home in my collage days till i dropped (not permanently). at most i was listening russian easter festival. man…it was good times. i like city of kitezh much too. but in my opinion russian easter festival is the all time best. its the most velvety song i have ever heard. its different from all classic pieces. its similiar to bwv 1008, no bard parts.
and if you liked depressive silence, you can check this out too(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSGkfMjQT5w)
Hah. So it’s ok to listen to rich folks playing violins but not drums 😉
Just joshin. I get your point. The commercialism & quick buck of contemporary music often kills it for me too. But there are some gems out there (successful or otherwise) featuring drums & electric guitar that I find soothing. Check out Yes – “Turn of the Century” for some beautiful electric guitar in the 2nd half (of course Steve Howe can play a kazoo and make it sound beautiful).
Anyway, looks like a great list. I’ll check it out today (and I’ll add Bach just to make Ceph happy… hmm this one looks good… Bach man Turner Overdrive?)
i know I exaggerated 😛
i must say i like garage rock songs major. i dont hate electric guitar and drums. sometimes it feels bad because i remember the times i was searching for garage gems, surf instrumentals like bullwinkle via internet…happy times. in my past 2 months, i feel bad when i hear them again…i like doo wops, i like garage, i like instrumentals…all have guitar and drums but i dont want to remember my good times in this part of my life. i’m a little bit obsessive. if i listen them now i will infect them. then whenever i plug them i know i remember my bad times. i have a road soundtrack full of with garages, doo-wop’s…and i save them on purpose. im gonna road trip someday. i dont want them to be covered with sadness and pity. like a prison.
turn of the century ‘s good actually. im gonna listen it while smoking in my balcony
