Any suicide survivors out there???
Can yall please tell me your experiences?
Like the pain involved in the method, and what happens when you’re near the point of no return??
Sure, why not. Pills, asphyxia, poisoning and hanging (i don’t know why but it sounds ridiculous when i write them all together).
The worst pills attempt got me a stomach pump with charcoal, kidney/liver damage, damage to my nose (due to the thing they use for the pump) and a 10 days stay at the hospital (may have been less, memory is fuzzy). I remember feeling an increasing lightheadedness (which was pretty scary) and bumping into things, which supposedly is because your body redirects oxygen to preserve important organs (my oxygen levels where all over the place).
Asphyxia didn’t work. I passed out once but most attempts would end up in me feeling despair and stopping all together.
Poisoning didn’t work (rat poison, ridiculous amounts). More organ damage and i felt ill for months (extreme dehydration). Most likely the worst one i tried.
Hanging should have worked. I lost consciousness but regained it shortly after. I blame it on my neck muscles, and the feeling you get when you are losing consciousness is pretty bad, like your head is about to burst and your eyes will pop out of your face, lol.
Most likely this will be deleted but if anything… i suck at killing myself, lol.
Ive survived twice………sometimes I am so grateful……other times I wish it had worked……..first time I was 11, second time I was 21 both OD – I am now 38…… I still battle with being alive not as much when I was younger, but tonight I found this site so that tells you…….
I tried a bunch of times already, but only two would probably be considered “serious” (partial suspension). I had posted about that before, probably mid 2013, but I deleted it and would rather not detail too much what happened, not only because we can’t give details on methods but also because thinking about that frustrates and saddens me. All I can say is that it hurts a lot (my neck hurt for days), there’s a point where neck pain is almost unbearable and I got close to passing out during the second attempt. I would never recommend it (even though people say that if you do it “right”, you will experience a painless death), but if I had to try something again I would probably do the same or hang myself. I had also planned to jump off a high building but a good friend from this place convinced me not to. I almost drowned when I was a child and I saw the infamous “white light” that people always talk about. It was probably my body warning me that it was giving up.
Have to second that, the white light is most likely your body giving up due to oxygen issues. Experienced that one when i was taken to the hospital and once i passed out due to monoxide poisoning (not intentionally).
Yes, exactly. Honestly, seeing that is a crazy experience. I understand why so many people see that as supernatural. I wouldn’t have survived if they had taken another 1 minute to save me.
I’ve heard the “a couple of minutes and i wouldn’t have survived” line a couple of times, and having experienced it (and talked about it with people who has gone through it), i think the weight of that alone changes you on the long run (either for good or for bad), so maybe that makes people give it that supernatural connotation too.
Or i might be wrong and maybe it is a supernatural thing, lol.
I think I was too young to really care about dying or not, I just wanted to have fun so I was swimming again maybe two weeks after that. Lol now I swim like a fish.
Also, idk how long that lasted (also, I have no idea why I typed that 1 on my second comment).
I’d rather not to think that was a supernatural experience, it would change my entire pov on life and afterlife. Still, it’s something that people never forget.
I tried pills, (slept woke up im a hospital had a huge bill) hanging (couldnt last 20 seconds with out fighting and getting out of it) and i helt a loaded 12 gauge to my head but couldn’t pull the trigger. Some days im grateful these things didn’t work other days i wish i would’ve pulled the trigger.
Failed hanging twice. First time nearly worked I think if they did not get to me in time. Don’t believe those sites that say it quick & painless or whatever, it is unfortunately
