I was obsessed with planes and they took me to the O’Hair airport where I seen my first Boeing 747 up close…..never knew why I had such a fascination with airplanes back then
I came here after my grandma died, then I had to give up my cats because I had nowhere to go. I had a friend here since I was 15 that I got to know as a penpal. So it was Chicago, the only city where I knew at least someone there.
This is true. Sometimes I wonder why people live in certain areas in Kansas and Oklahoma. Has to be like living on the Gulf Coast with hurricanes. Storm comes through and levels the place. You rebuild. Another storm comes through ….
Especially Oklahoma! They have the most hurricanes per capita of any other state. People moving to the Midwest better have some damn good home insurance and a strong basement. WV prob has some of the most peaceful weather in the U.S. no volcanoes, no earthquakes, hardly any dangerous flooding or tornados
Not to mention the recent increase in earthquakes.
I don’t have a basement at my house. One day, tornado is going to come along, peel the roof off, and say “come on, guy, let’s party.”. I pretty much just ignore the sirens when they go off.
I’d hate to live in a place like New Oreleans…IMO it was one of the stupidist places to start building a large city. It’s basically a bowl supported by levees….just a matter of time when another Katrina strikes.
I’ve been in a few tornado’s my time…wicked scary cool shit. Minus the damage to peoples lives and property, that I don’t like but the act of nature that creates it, is beautiful. Makes me think Mother Nature is having her monthly and that is her way of taking out her frustrations. Sometimes, I think she could use a Midol but I’m too afraid to offer one to her, she might rip me apart. And while I do want to die, I don’t wanna die like that.
I used to work with a guy who took people out on paid “tours” chasing storms. Not sure if he’s still around or not. Seems like every year or so, you hear of people getting killed doing that, even the experienced people.
Southern California originally but I don’t live anywhere specifically now. I sleep wherever I park for the night, which is usually somewhere between San Francisco and New Jersey.
Though I was born in Washington, Oregon became my home growing up there’s so many unique people here and it’s so beautiful and the laws aren’t all that bad haha <3
Yes, you would be correct. You should visit sometime…the beaches here are amazing. Just don’t go to the Atlantic side, they suck!
Ft. Meyers, the Keys, Miami…well that is far enough south that it’s pretty…its the northern Atlantic that is so icky. Like Jacksonville etc.. Oh Clearwater is nice too, Indian Rocks, St. Pete…not so much. Its really shelly and the water isn’t clear really for whatever reason. IDK since it’s just a few miles south of Clearwater and Indian Rocks.
Chile seems like a pretty developed country to me, especially after they got rid of Pinochet and replaced it with a democracy. Perry low crime rate to in comparison to other parts of South America
Actually it’s just a facade. Economical growth isn’t everything, and democracy can always be circumcised on a daily basis (which it is). The economical structure is freaking ridiculous (neo capitalism) and is breaking this country apart. It has one of the highest suicide rates as well and people are becoming increasingly rude an shallow (think yuppies without the sophistication part). I’m don’t tend to discriminate social classes, but this country has been turning into a big pile of white trash for decades. Add all of that to the fact that the current president is making things worse for economy… and yeah, you got a pretty bad country.
If i ever get the chance, i’ll leave in a heartbeat.
My best “real life” friend lived in Chile for 6 months, Mf. Idk where in the country you live but she said the place was gorgeous… She can’t wait to go back.
Let me add that we’re stuck in an endless summer here in my Brazilian city, go visiting a cold place was great for her.
Yeah, for visiting it’s a good place, specially if you stay away from the main cities, but living here… not so good in the long run unless several changes are made. I remember that brazil was like being in a microwave oven but i remember seeing beautiful places (and buying garottos before i could find them here, lol), i went there when i was younger a couple of times (lived in uruguay for a couple of years so it was close).
Oh yes, definitely. Lots of beautiful places everywhere here too but always hot as hell (unless if you’re in the South where it can snow a bit). Tourists love it but living in 40 C all the time isn’t fun.
That’s funny about Garoto lol. She brought a bunch of things back home too including one bottle of your famous wines
Tell her to look out for the wine thing if she ever comes back. Many wines sold to tourists are repackaged crap that you can find at a supermarket for less than 10bucks, lol.
I live in the US–out in a corn field in Indiana.
Despite stereotypes, I’m not a hillbilly, nor do I have the over-dramatized accent, and my boyfriend is not a family member. xD
Hey do you know where Logansport is? Northwest of Kokomo? Got relatives there too. Lol yeah people pretty much fled WV in droves in the 1980-90s due to the economics.m
It is a really small town. I’m amazed. xD And I might have an idea where that is but there’s a couple railroad tracks through here. One is shut down but the other isn’t.
Yes I think so. The log cabin is sort of looks secluded but if you go to the front door it leads to a Main Street type place that has gas stations and some other houses. It’s at the very edge of town. Weird set up.
I don’t understand why American conservatives always see Canada as a horrible place. Low crime rate, most rusted banking system in the world (government run) and they seem like a nicer group of people

USA – East coast.
Brazil (for now. I’ll probably move after college)
Albania -_-
I always been interested in Albanias communist history. While I’m no communist myself, I love studying geopolitics. Ever Hoxha was insane!
Evner*
yeah! thanks to heme 80% of albanians are dumb because he killed all the smart people. P.s: Enver 😉
I was always fascinated by how he turned against the Soviet Union in favor of China and banned all religion and dissent. Glad he’s gone.
he hated religion because his father was an imam. here lots people miss him. Nostalgia i guesd 😛
I’m atheist myself, but believe in freedom of religion as long as it doesn’t take the secular rights away from people.
I’m atheist too. Here in Albania people are not so religious but catholics, orthodox and muslims go very well together.
Australia
Figures you would be on the other side of the world!
Do my posts appear to be coming from a great distance?
No, but I had thought you might have been from the UK. Figures you’re off in Australia. Yeah. Damn.

Cool. We really got a global community going on up in here!
US here – born in West Virginia, currently living in Chicago, Illinois.
Small world! Both from the same stare. I had an aunt who lived in Chicago for a decade. Took a train there with my biomom to see her when I was 12
I was obsessed with planes and they took me to the O’Hair airport where I seen my first Boeing 747 up close…..never knew why I had such a fascination with airplanes back then

I’m from Poland.
US – Kansas City. Boring midwest.
Not boring for the storm chasers!

Yeah, imagine if Katrina had hit during Mardi Gras. Might have been twice as bad, with so many people trying to get out.
I’ve been in a few tornado’s my time…wicked scary cool shit. Minus the damage to peoples lives and property, that I don’t like but the act of nature that creates it, is beautiful. I’d love to chase storms! I’m more into thunderstorms and hurricanes, monsoons, etc.
I used to work with a guy who took people out on paid “tours” chasing storms. Not sure if he’s still around or not. Seems like every year or so, you hear of people getting killed doing that, even the experienced people.
United States…Minnesota
Sorry your state had to deal with Michele Bachman! Glad she’s no longer in politics
Southern California originally but I don’t live anywhere specifically now. I sleep wherever I park for the night, which is usually somewhere between San Francisco and New Jersey.
Sweet! Road trip heaven.
North of England.
Scotland?
The* north of England, sorry. 😉
The North Pole? Are you Santa? Haha. Norway? Iceland? Ireland? Am I getting warmer even though the nations I’m mentioning are colder?
Yes, I am Santa. But no, I’m right here in England. In the north. Of England. 😉
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh haha
West side of the united states 🙂 Oregon
Love Oregon for there right to die laws for the terminally ill
Though I was born in Washington, Oregon became my home growing up there’s so many unique people here and it’s so beautiful and the laws aren’t all that bad haha <3
I like there more liberal minded politics. Sounds like it would be a nice place to live
It really is! Oregon is very easy going haha, its quite small here too and everyone is super friendly
US – Ft. Meyers
Florida right? I got family in Lakeland and Titusville. Only been there in the womb lol so I never got to enjoy the scenery

I always wanted to see the space shuttle launch
It’s pretty cool.
Chile. Not all of us are thieves like most of the world tends to think, but hide your valuables just in case.

O_O I live in Logansport! That’s exciting. 😀 And basically all my relatives live here.
Damn seriously? Wow and that’s a real small town too! Damn! What are the chances?
I can’t remember the address, but they lived in a log home next to railroad tracks
It is a really small town. I’m amazed. xD And I might have an idea where that is but there’s a couple railroad tracks through here. One is shut down but the other isn’t.

But I haven’t been there since I was 14. This is an amazing coincidence
Canada
Oh Canada! Where the cities crime rates are low…..Oh Canada! Where the banks are not about to explode
I don’t understand why American conservatives always see Canada as a horrible place. Low crime rate, most rusted banking system in the world (government run) and they seem like a nicer group of people
Most Trusted not rusted. iPad autocorrect strikes again
“Rusted” banking system? So, instead of the gold standard, you’re on the IRON standard up there? (couldn’t resist)
