I kind of sort of did this once, when I lived next to a national park. Just walked up onto the moors and let myself get lost, figuring that if I wanted to die I would just lie down and let myself. Luckily (or not) it was a smallish area, and I managed to walk across half of it to an intersecting road within the day, and get picked up. The lesson is, if you want to die of exposure, pick a really frickin’ large area. Or walk more slowly. Or don’t take a mobile phone with you.
Into the wild was the inspiration. I have read it many times. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it you could go for days into the wild and never see anyone here.

Yes, often.
Daily.
All the time.

Yes sometimes. It sounds nice .
Well doesn’t think about walk till collapse.
But thought about Living in wild. Far away from society. In utter peace.
I’m going in a road trip by myself this summer . That sort of counts

This made me laugh. Should I be laughing?
Definitely.
Nice.
Yes. When I am in the mountains I just want to turn and run into the forest (won’t though; would cause too much trouble for those left behind).
Yup
Look up the book Into The Wild. You might like it.
Have you read “into thin air” by Krakauer?
