I can feel it starting again… I just crawled out of my depression and now I can feel myself going into hypercharge mode- does anyone know a workout that makes you really fucking tired?? I need something to get this, this thing out of me…
Mike Chang’s workouts. I swear i almost died out when i first tried one of his short workouts (youtube it), and well, i’m not in great shape but i’m skinny and it almost gave me a heart attack. If that doesn’t stop you, you might consider getting some chains and a good lock, lol.
Or maybe you just need better sneakers, lol. j/k, but yeah, i guess those workouts might do the trick, since i did use to practice a bit of martial arts, so it’s not like a normal workout should have let me at the bringe of the death. Never was much of a runner tho, bad ankles + weak calves = reserve running for extreme cases, like a massive discount on stuff or chasing the ice cream truck.
Have you considered swimming? Sometimes it is the only thing that can wear me out. Also, walking with weights in your ankles, full out walking like you are late for a but, you can do that on a treadmill. We discussed this earlier so I totally get it. I was at the pool today. I was under water more than above it retrieving pokemon figurines….took a lot of the craze out of me. I feel a lot better tonight. Plus I ate a lot of fruit tonight to bring my blood sugar. I’m totally assuming you have had your thyroid checked right? When my synthroid is too low I feel like I’m chewing nails and dropping off a cliff. It mimics mania.
Yeah I’ve had my thyroid checked and I’m good to go. I used to swim a lot but I’m embarassed about all of my cutting scars… but the ankle weights could work. I’m going to try running with my backpack of textbooks on… maybe that will take it out of me. I just get into a bit of a panic when I really get going so I have to make sure I’m not going to seriously injure myself.
I’m glad you’re feeling better Hazy 🙂 I’m actually going to San Francisco next week to get an incredibly cool brain scan that will isolate and define exactly what type of bipolar I am and what level of depression I have. It is supposed to help you make a life-plan of how do deal with this stuff and also will help with a possible medication plan. I’ma crossing my fingers.
Lets hope you don’t waste a trip when the recommendation comes back to jog and swim with weights strapped to your ankles.
I have friends in San Fran, never been there, I’m totally envious. Of the trip, not the brain scan. Is it a University Study? What do they hope to find out by mapping your brain?
Do check your thyroid from time to time, specially if you are on some type of meds. I didn’t have thyroid problems for years, and suddenly i started having them… i think at some point i read an article linking benzos to an increase in thyroid-disease. Made sense to me, since thyroid disease is usually hereditary and no one here has it.
I don’t even have a working thyroid any longer. I was discussing with someone this week that come the Zombie apocalypse I need to find a horse and someone who can synthesize Thyroid hormone from Horse urine. Preferably a chemist.
Worst thing? you get highly dependent on that stuff. I remember i had my tsh levels at 5 and started taking eutirox for something like 1 1/2 years. Then i stopped because i was too busy dealing with killing myself. A year later i was at tsh 12, so… yeah, since i’ve continued to take it i’m guessing that if they ever cease thyroid hormone production i’ll have to blow my brains out. Fine by me 😀
LOL. I told my endochrinologist I was going to stop seeing her because she keeps giving me bad new. She didn’t laugh, she doesn’t find me funny. Seriously every time I go to see her she hands me another list of shit that is broken on me. Seriously lady? I need my $50 copay back.
@Mf, my body killed my poor thyroid so it just is lumpy and sad. At least I don’t have a goiter…yet. But I do have a nice tasteful collection of scarves should one flare up. Seriously though I think that is why I have been feeling like I’m being choked this week. Pretty sure my thyroid is swollen. Not much anyone can do about.
If it’s any consolation we’re all going to get a goiter sooner or later (regardless of thyroid disease), but like you say, that’s why scarves are made for, lol. And… yeah, it could be that. I do get a tightness in the throat at times, and i noticed higher than normally-high tsh levels when that happened ihn a specific time period (did some experimenting with thyroid levels since my mom works in a health clinic that is pretty permissive with their employees, lol).
So whenever i get that feeling now i sort of make an educated guess: my thyroid is trying to choke me to death today.
I guess i’m going to do the same and call it a night to at least (try) to get some sleep since i just woke up after 5 minutes of typing the T letter with my head, lol. Heh, i always get a laugh of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcTNpw306Gg
I find the number 7 quite comforting. And 713 (Harry Potter nerd insert). The trip is still going down the crazy bipolar road, but maybe the potholes and twisty turns will lesson some day.
I know… but it’s all I got. And if I give that hope up, then I won’t survive this. All I need is a good Range Rover with good shocks so the potholes won’t be so damn rough. And maybe some vodka

Haha thanks Mf I will give it a shot. I’ve run until I’ve made my toes bleed and I almost passed out so I’m a bit of a tough cookie I guess.

I’m thinking of taking Tai Chi, it’s so graceful.

And that “too busy killing myself” comment….just got it now. hahaha

Grab our hand and brace for the ride Nicole
We will ride it out with you. I’m in one hell of a ride myself at the moment.
Yeah. What a long Strang trip it’s been. I’m seeing spiritual guidance in numbers of all things. Fml.

I don’t have much hope about that lately. Its a chronic disease.

Or tequila. A lot of tequila.
Ha we can alternate between both
