But if you weren’t there, they wouldn’t have anyone to compare themselves unfavourably to, so they would be fine. You give them something to envy. You show them up. You are a reminder of the unattainable. So they do hate you. And rightly so.

Hate is a very bad feeling, and we never ever feed our heart with hate, no matter what.
