Everything J (rock, metal, pop to some degree). Old 80s rock hair bands. Some old pop bands (mostly take that, guilty pleasure, lol). Some select progressive metal/speed metal bands (mostly dream theater/kamelot/symphony x). Guess i just like the guitar/drums/bass/keyboard combo.
Catchy melodies, beautiful harmonies, pleasant timbre, smart arrangement, thrilling rhythms and magical lyrics. Rather than any one genre.
E.g. Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky, Come Together by The Beatles, Toxic by Britney Spears, Everyday by Netsky, Crack Pipes by Sage Francis, Only Girl (In the World) by Rihanna, Bright Smile by Josh Ritter, Grace Kelly Blues by The Eels.
Everything! from the 40s to now, Early stuff because it was simple always about love and talented singers, later music moved in the direction of human rights and political, i like it all, it rounds you out, sad, interesting, funny, i feel for all. but remember this if you listen to just one style you can trap yourself and your mind! good or bad! you will become what you listen to! my favorite THE STONES, THEM BOYS BEEN ALL OVER THE PLACE IN MUSIC. QUITE A HISTORY.
I’m into like old 60s psychedelic rock but I’m really into the new kind too . My favorite band is tame impala . I also love a lot of surf punk rock.. Haha kind of a wierd genre .
