If you choose to make it “the end” then you forfeit any possible chance of it getting better.
Individual situations may merit a different response, however most of us do have some control over our lives so perhaps we underestimate the power that we hold in determining whether or not it gets better, worse or stays constant.
Life is a matter of luck and situations. Good people aren’t always rewarded and working hard doesn’t guarantee anything. Some have to be happy for others to be sad. It’s life. Some will still not understand this in the scope of reality but the optimism falsely triumphs the reality. Life is a matter of odds. Point blank.
@ IControlmydestiny. So you’re saying that we don’t control our destiny?
I do agree with your overall sentiment. Somethings are beyond our direct control and we have to work within those confines. However, becoming a product of our environment with an outlook that it does not get better may not be helpful. There is no guarantee that our perception or situation will remain constant and with an optimistic view we may perceive situations differently or look for ways of improving our environment.
But sometimes optimism is just even more painful than the reality alone. The main ability we humans (and any organisms) have is adapting to reality. Thats what causes life to continue. When we are adapted we feel calm and can base on that somehow. Some people will try to make optimistic view of point but which is totally non-related to whats your actual position. Than trying to cope with that optimism is even worse than being in a shit itself.
If u can base your view on whats actually happening (what you feel, thing, see etc.), then you can get true and noble optimism. Even if that only good thing you can see is death…(but it applies to any situation, even the good ones)
I did infer the correct meaning of your username. My question was an attempt to humorously illustrate the apparent contradiction between your fist sentence “Life is a matter of luck and situations.” and the outlook portrayed by your username. I realise that comparison may have been over simplistic on my part so I do apologise.
As I mentioned, I do agree with specific points that you raised. The reason that I felt it necessary to express a more positive outlook is simply the forum. It would be all to easy for me to agree and say that yes, life is unfair and will not get better but as we are on a suicide forum I try to offer a different perspective. I understand that each situation is unique but part of determining what may eventuate is to look at those before us that have been in similar situations and many of those people have become better so the possibility of recuperation does exist.
You can infer whatever you like but that’s your opinion and not mine. Who’s says your right? You? I don’t speak negativity or positivity. I speak my opinion just as you do yours. Also, I understand what it feels like to feel like some of these users so when they speak of the darkness they are in I don’t tell them it will get better when it always doesn’t. I want them to be happy in the end regardless of what they do. There is a perpetual darkness for some which you probably can’t comprehend.

For me, it truly hasn’t gotten better. I don’t want anyone to go through the pain I do, so I’d rather it get better for you than me

My username is in reference to me living or dying not anyone else’s life. My choice to live or my choice to die.
