Yessir! Let’s go ahead and present the contestant with his prize….
You’ve won a fabulous one of a kind, hastily taken photograph of a water tower customized with your unique user name! Literally priceless.

I’m required by law to get a physical examination once every two years. My current medical card expires in 10 days, so I went and got a physical today.
I failed. My blood pressure was too high.
I can go back and take the test again, and if I pass I can continue working in the industry I’ve been a part of for the last 22 years. If I fail the blood pressure test and can’t get re-certified, I’ll have to do something else.
Some say that a crisis is actually an opportunity in disguise.
22 years of doing a job I hate and which I complain about, a job which could very well be the reason why I have stress related high blood pressure. Haaha. I don’t believe in “signs”, but The Universe does seem to be telling me it’s time to quit my job before my job runs me into the ground.
But what next? Working for employers sucks. They pay you as little as they can, and they demand as much out of you as they can get. It’s exploitation. Working as an independent contractor or owning a business is a good route to take. I did that for ten years and it was lucrative, but it was a colossal pain in the ass too. Dealing with employees, overhead, taxes, compliance with every law, long hours making sure everything goes according to plan, etc. It was stressful. I don’t want the commitment.
Plan B is next. Whenever I figure out what that is, that’s what I’m going with.
Good luck, Morris. I’d suggest you should actually get a blood test through a lab as well, but you’re not usually into doctor’s visits.
I hope something will work out.
Not a big deal, looking forward to the next episode in this series.
They’re playing Jimmy Buffet in the bar I’m at. JB is searching for his lost shaker of salt, he blew out a pair of flip-flops, and he got a tattoo of a Mexican cutie he doesn’t remember getting.
I’m doing fine compared to Jimmy.
I don’t think I need to tell you that drinking more alcohol probably won’t lower your blood pressure… but I guess all we can do is work with what we got, huh. Better to have a good time than be negative.
A person could live their entire life without ever smoking or drinking and they’ll still die. You can lead the healthiest lifestyle imaginable, and you’ll still succumb to the same fate as the fun-loving sinners.
Fuck that. I don’t want to prolong the last 20 years of my life, the stretch from 80 to 100. If I could make the period from age 20 to 30 last thirty years, yes, sign me up. 60 to 90? No thanks. I’ll keep my bad habits instead.
Ask around, you can get a doc to give you a valid med card. I’m vaguely familiar with the industry. Trust me there’s multiple docs that will check OK if you got a pulse and picture of Ben Franklin.
Yeah, like I said, this is a blessing in disguise. I quit my job because I fail the medical exam, take a month off, take the test again and pass, then get another shitty job. No big deal, I get a much needed vacation then return to my role as slave. Slaves enjoy vacations too.
Holy shot Morris. ffs I’m so sorry. Or I’m sorry you have high blood pressure. I’ve started from scratch a few times. Can’t complain. Nothing like flushing my life to get my blood flowing. Insert some pithy colloquialism here. I’m all tapped out.
For me personally, when I try to be healthy it’s about my own comfort. I have no interest in living to 80 or whatever. I just want to give myself the chance to live my life without illness and health issues stopping me.
However, if you can’t enjoy life, then there’s no point. It’s all about making the most of the moment. So yeah, I agree that one should do whatever makes their existence worthwhile, as long as it won’t harm anyone else.

Do I win a prize?

Thank you.
I was kinda hoping for a big ole chicken fried steak, but the watertower picture works too.
The restaurant I once ate in there in Morris was pretty good.
Total winning photo.
I bet there aren’t any water towers that say “Cordless” on them.
There might not be any towns named Cordless, but there are plenty of drills.
LOL!
