welp my friend informed me that he doesn’t hate me anymore so yay ^_^
I really want to do something with him tomorrow but that’s doubtful to occur, since he did something last week with me, so it’ll probably be another week at least before we do something again…. I kind of want to suggest having a picnic though, as I sort of mentioned that last week and he didn’t seem to reject the idea entirely, and I feel like it would be a nice thing to do. I can make the food, I has cooking skills…. I’m uncertain of what to make for a picnic though, maybe chips could be a good investment…. But I want to prepare things though. I know macaroni salad can work, and potato salad, both dishes I can make fairly well…. But beyond that I have no idea, sandwiches probably are not going to be a thing, as proper meat and cheese is expensive, and everything else just seems cheap and uncaring…. I know this will have to be planned at least for next friday though, as I don’t have all of the things in the house right now and really couldn’t be prepared for tomorrow if he wanted to do it…. Well maybe I could, but I would have to ask him in the mourning if he wanted to so I would have time to prepare, after going shopping…. And probably could be ready by about 1am or so (which is when we normally hang out) but meh that’s just timing…. I will bring it up when he wakes up and maybe we can plan something…. another complication is that I don’t have a cooler, so I’d have to see if he could bring one…. Otherwise it would just be really awkward ice packs which will melt pre quickly…. Maybe I can craft up something….
But anyway, anyone have good ideas for picnic foods? And mostly just prepared dishes, I can’t really do anything that expensive my budget for getting anything that’s not currently in my kitchen is $7 (for this week, for next week it could be maybe $15)

We picnic alot here and take easy finger food like cubed fruit and/or berries. Veggie plates are fairly cheap to make. We also take either sandwiches or a fresh baked bread. Have even baked pizza from scratch and taken that. We live right near beaches that allow fires so often take hot dogs and marshmallows.
Okay I can do the fruit plates and stuffs, they are decently cheap to make…. Could probably even make dipping sauces…. Pizza is something I will not do, I’m not a baker, same goes with bread LOL…. Sadly the place we want to go doesn’t allow for fires 🙁
a bag of fried chicken and ice cold watermelon. and a bottle of vodka 🙂
But drinking alcohol in public is frowned upon :/
are your kidding? put it in coffee cup! the public can kiss my ass!
I sometimes like to take a loaf of French bread and a chunk of cheese, but I really miss the old fashioned picnics that we had when I was a kid:
Either bologna or pickle and pimento loaf with cheese or perhaps ham salad. My grandmother would sometimes make pound cake. Cold fried chicken is a good option. I agree that any kind of chips or snack food, perhaps with some kind of dip, would be a good idea.
Now I’m hungry
but don’t processed meat sandwhiches look cheap though and make it seem like I care? The chicken probably will work, I’ll have to check prices on chicken now to see if it’s in the budget, probably is…. Next week I should have enough for most things.
Honestly, it would never occur to me that lunch meat seems cheap on a picnic. I always considered lunch meat to be normal at a picnic.
I’ve never experienced a picnic before -_-
interesting “I’ve never experienced a picnic before -_-”
although i no longer think about picnic’s,
they are:
1.) where a bunch of adults take kids that hardly know each other and they run around acting stupid, make hot dogs, and the kids really feel they did something. the adults talk about their kids while drinking beer. it’s cheaper than Disneyland.
2.) a romantic setting for Two! you talk and wish you were at home so you could have sex.
Ummmm this picnic will not be either of those things…. so far 6 people are invited -_- (a few may bring another person) and only one of them has children…. We are not really adults :/
a kids picnic? bring the monsters and chicken tenders.
I’m not certain you could call us kids either, we’re like 19-22 with one is like 30 or something (she’s the one with the child, but she doesn’t have the child anymore as it was taken away from her) But we really aren’t adults, we’re just kind of things that exist right now…. -_-
your sort of inbetween kids and adults you just having finished cooking yet. a few more years in the oven of life will do the trick. 🙂
But I already feel burnt though…. -_- I want out of the oven.
Lol Rocketman…
You could do kabobs but you’d have to cook the meat beforehand. And I agree that berries and watermelon are good.
i like to cook but at home, that’s where all the stuff i need is! i like being social but with people i have something in conman with, kids are not one of them. other musicians would be fun.
yes I shall have to get a watermelon, turns out the week after next will be when it is ^_^ so I has time to prepare and practice making my pasta salads and potato salads and what has you. Maybe hotdogs, turns out none of them wanted to hike to a picnic site (would only be a 2 mile hike uphill) and instead want to go to a park, the park does have places to cook hotdogs, but somebody else is bringing the charcoal….
Aokigahara. Now that sounds like the ideal place for a picnic.
Not that you asked for destination recommendations. Jus sayin.
Comes with free food…. just some of it may be a little bit decomposing ^_^
