Last night I was having conversation with my love of my life.
She was taking about kids. Our future kids.
I told her I don’t like kids very much.
Now I kinda feel guilty for that.
She said, what you are ?
You don’t like animals (pets) and now you don’t lile kids also ?
And now I’m feeling guilty for my statement.
But still, I stand for what I said.
Kids are huge responsibility.
Just because I don’t like kids very much, DOES THIS MAKE ME AN EVIL PERSON ?

I wouldn’t say it makes you an evil person at all. Like you said kids are a huge responsibility and commitment. Once you have kids you basically have to devote the next 20 years of your life to raising them. If you are unstable, depressed, have mental issues, Especially if you are suicidal. It’s hard in good conscience to make that commitment. So if you don’t believe you can make that commitment then not having kids would actually be the responsible choice.
Then to many on here might make the argument that the world is a harsh, brutal, abusive place. That it isn’t fair to bring an innocent life into this world to suffer.
Although on the other hand having kids for some people is an incredibly important part of life. For some people that is part of their dream of what life should be. So it could be an issue in your relationship if she really wants kids and you don’t. It depends on how important having kids is to her.
Not at all, it may mean you are just not ready for kids but perhaps down the line your feelings may change. If you truly do not want kids and she does then unfortunately you may not be right for each other. there are women out there that don’t want to have kids and are perfectly fine with that. Don’t be ashamed because you have a preference for what you see in your future.
No, honestly i think you are overreacting. Maybe she just got butt hurt kuz she took it personal but honestly why would it make you evil? don’t get it. Kids are a huge responsibility and i think you are mature for knowing that. Most people are in love with the “idea” of having kids without really thinking it through. So no of course you are not evil. by the way i like your user name, its deep..
Personal likes and dislikes vary between people which makes us somewhat unique and interesting.
The reasons why we like or dislike something is influenced by our environment which is forever changing so our preferences are also somewhat fluid.
I understand that children could be put into a different basket as there are certain biological factors at play. As well as perceived pressure through social norms and tradition. What makes it even more difficult is when couples have different thoughts on this topic, that could be reason enough to end a relationship and seek someone like minded.
Open dialogue in relationship is important here to avoid hurt down the track.
So what do I think? No you are not evil for having a different like or dislike than greater society. Your view may also change in the future, there are plenty of people who at one point did not want children that have children now. This one is tricky as a decision needs to factor in age for fertility and other reasons.
No it dose not make you evil ….it just means you. Are just not ready for the responsibility yet .
It does not make you evil…just honest in your feelings. I wish more people where like that…
Kids are annoying. If that makes you evil, then that makes kids twice as evil. There’s some consolation.
I can’t help but like this statement…. abietly, we were all children once…. thus, we are all annoying….until at least the age of 21…. lol
Even beyond that. Brains don’t fully develop until around 26, 27 years old. But being a child isn’t annoying. A child might be annoying to an adult, but not to him or herself. Children can even be immensely wise sometimes – they can recognize adult bullshit for what it is. Honestly, it’s the babies and toddlers that are annoying. Diapers and vomit and constant shrieky crying all the time. Ugh.. no thanks.
Have you ever seen the movie Into The Forest? That movie made no sense, except for the ending, where a baby clearly drove the main characters insane. No spoilers there, either. Babies drive people insane. It’s just how babies work.
