When you watch anime or superhero movies, or anything scifi, the characters all have like super cool powers or abilities.
Then, when you go back to the real world, it feels so lame to be human. No special abilities, no making shadow clones, have lightening come out of your hands, no fireball coming out of your mouth, no teleportation.
Yeah yeah, we have airplanes and I suppose things like a blowtorch would substitute for being able to make fireballs and such but eh. Doesn’t it feel boring to be just a plain ol’ human? Or is it just me?

“have lightening come out of your hands, fireball coming out of your mouth,” -not practically impossible, the question is more if you could deal with/would like the consequences (and the taste of accelerant)
also have you seen contortionists? what more proof do we need of superhuman reptile hybrids being bred in secret caves under our metros and sewers
also, michael phelps or usain bolt, bionics/androids much? email them for info of their supplier/mad engineer autoshop
but maybe the proof is in the pudding, if you look at the guinness books it would appear a lot of people agree with you, and, because of the said boredom of being humey, have accomplished the most super/inhuman of weirdness
master the art of eating cinnamon, and maybe eventually you can get permanent ability of cinnamon-breath, being able to form clouds/puffs of cinnamon at will,
that will surely foil whatever arch nemesis you have, or at least sting their eyes and make them smell delicious
I wanna be wolverine
i’ve met girls that had the wolverine thing pretty much down… temper.. and fuckin nails… auch
Haha I have fake nails big they’re not the claw type. I’d switch to claws but I don’t know how to use the restroom if I have claws haha
Yeah, certain movies or video games can make real life seem lame in comparison.
While it’s not lightning or super powers, there are some things you can do that are relatively quite out of this world compared to the general population. You can try to be in really great shape physically and pursue some sort of athletic skill, and you’ll be able to do things that seem like magic compared to the average person.
After all, most of the super hero stories and stuff like that are still rooted in the real world aspects of discipline and doing the right thing, and despite the fancy costumes and super powers, you’re really supposed to come away from the stories appreciating the most human aspects of the characters.
Most of the human population wouldn’t have the upper body strength to pull themselves up from a ledge if they were dangling from it and their life depended on it.
Yeah but that’s the thing, while a few humans are extraordinary (either in intelligence, physical ability, or at some kind of talent), most of us 99% are just pretty dull and bland. I do not have any special ability or talent. Not if my life depended on it would I become extraordinary in some way, or if I practice whatever a million times will I be extraordinary in that either.
Also, that’s the definition of extraordinary, or superhuman- that only a few possess it. If everyone, or half the people, had that ability, then it wouldn’t be extraordinary anymore.
I guess I’m annoyed at the limits of my own abilities. I’m not extraordinary or gifted in anything (unless you count being dark and morose).
Yeah, some of those characters live so beautiful lives. I wish I could love one of those, their problems are more easy to handle.
So yeah, you’re not the only one.
Eh, if everyone could make lightning come out of their hands, it would seem pretty mundane. It would be about on a level with throwing rocks. I can see the road rage incidents, the drunk college students who have nothing better to do than zap street signs, the two-year-olds throwing temper tantrums who didn’t have it down very good but who could still give you a nasty shock. All in all, I think this is an ability best left to the Sith.
Personally, I would like the ability to walk barefoot on scorching-hot pavement in the summer without being bothered by it.
Being human can be very tedious and mundane indeed… Just ask me. I work retail in a gas station and stand in a room that is about 15 feet X 20 feet. I talk to the same customers everyday, and have variations of the same conversations everyday… I’ve been doing this for the past 3 and a half years… It is really wearing me down. I always wanted to be like James Bond. As silly as that sounds. I’ve always been a big fan. He is suave, a genius, and very sophisticated and the envy of every man around him. He isn’t superhuman, and I don’t like how he’s misogynistic, but he does have some very good qualities. I think one day as Bond would be amazing.
