so yeah.. i started going to these DBT meetings. actually, i’ve only been to one meeting, next one is next week. i was skeptic, but to my surprise i found it somewhat comforting.. knowing there are people who think similar things. in similar matters. it’s a great relief, because until then i thought i was the only one who had these cognitive patterns.
anyone here knows what i’m talking about?/go to DBT meetings?

I’m glad you’re taking your steps to having a better life.
I graduated from 6 months of DBT in the past (after my second try) so I will only encourage you. I’ve met some great people. Please actually practice what you are taught. I believe that is where I failed. Keep practicing. It is SO important! If you do not practice, you will go back to your old ways. DBT is a gift and it’s comforting to know you are not alone with your thoughts. Keep us posted.
I go to DBT meetings, I haven’t been to too many of them to tell u if they help or not, but just wanted to let u know I go too 🙂
From what I have researched about DBT, it certainly looks promising. The group aspect of it, if you are doing group, will ensure you know you are not alone. All those faces will mirror you in some way. This is huge. If you are one on one only with therapist he or she would let you know you are not alone too, over and over.
