Sorry if this becomes a rather long post.
I want to address this to all you who think “they’ll forget about me after a year, go on and live their lives…”
They will never forget you.
I am really fortunate that I’ve never lost anyone to suicide. When I was a teen, I lost a friend to cancer. This was about 1978, maybe…give or take a year or 2. Dave Q from Shrewsbury. Great kid. If memory serves, wanted to be in law enforcement, but I could be wrong.
We weren’t the closest friends; we ran in the same circles. But I still think about him. Every time I hear the ad featuring “McGruff, the crime dog” I think of him; he had a similar voice. 🙂 I think about what kind of life he would have had, the family he might have raised, the good he might have done in this world.
It’s NOT something I think of on a daily or even a weekly basis. But Dave is still with me, and always will be.
If the pain is absolutely too much to bear and you must leave this earth, I wish you peace. But they will never forget you.
Thank you for reading.
