I was a heroin addict. According to “Trainspotting” it’s better than sex. It must be a pretty fucking good feeling if people are willing to risk and wreck their lives over it.
From what I’ve heard, it feels great the first time, then after a couple times it wears off, but you also develop an addiction. So even though it’s not as pleasurable anymore, you need more and more of it. In the meantime, it ages you and makes you become ugly, you waste all your money, you become a paranoid and unreliable person, you lose your friends and family, you might become homeless, and then you OD or end up in jail. Not a fun way to go. You’re better off avoiding it and finding something less destructive to do with your time.
I’ve been a heroin addict. It took me years to come to grips with it and get over it and still to this day I love the stuff despite the fact that nothing good ever came from it.
I don’t recommend it. The physical pain may leave for a while, but every day you wake up in withdraw in excruciating pain and have to go find someone willing to sell you more and just hope you have the money. It becomes a full time job just finding a dealer, getting the money and trust me..It’s not fun to have to bare you soul to some nasty character to score when you might shit your pants any minute. Then there’s the nasty business of withdraw when your body feels like it’s melting from the inside out and that can last for weeks and even months on end.
It gets to the point where your only friends are other addicts and every single one of them will steal your last penny for their own next hit and even single one of them will lie right to your face and tell you they would never rip off a friend. Every one of them will rip you off. You can’t trust anyone in the game of addiction.
Then there are those damned cops.. You get on their radar and your every step gets watched.
Try laying in a jail cell where it’s cold 24/7 and nothing is ever available to make you feel better, only sleep can do that, but sleep is an extremely rare commodity in places like jail and in jail a heroin addict is lower than whale shit. There is no pity for a heroin addict.
So you want to be a heroin addict? You’re better off shitting your pants and riding a bicycle. You probably will have to do just that while trying to find a heroin dealer in the cold with no money. Back to square one.

Those are just the good parts of being a heroin addict. The bad parts are much much worse.
