What you say is true. I often get the notion that when a prospective parent says “I want kids” that is just shorthand for “I someone that will give ME what I need”.
“To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be happy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness.”
Formulate a plan: a real one. If you feel you’re in danger, seek help from a counselor, they may be able to refer you to an attorney who may be willing to do pro bono work. There are options, but you need to seek them.

* “I want someone that will give ME what I need”.*
Reminds me of a Woody Allen quote.
“To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be happy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness.”
damn, that’s just too much suffering…
Love it!
Some of us would still be here. . . .
Well, if my parents were normal I would certainly not be here.

Maybe there is some truth to that, but I think I’d still be here. I’d just have less reasons to be here.
I’m sure that’s true for a lot of us. 🙁
