Just had to pay for $5 worth of gas in borrowed quarters so I could get to a job interview. I’ve got a college degree that I thought I could use to help people with, and now I’m interviewing for a second minimum wage job. This whole living thing is really overrated.

I can understand that you feel disappointed and depressed.
But I just want to say that I think it’s cool you drive (I never really used my license after I got it).
It’s amazing that you took a college degree, I don’t have that either. Even if you’re interviewing for minimum wage jobs atm, I think a college degree will help you in the long term.
And hey – you got an interview. That is not bad. I’m unemployed.
I don’t mean to try to make you feel better by sharing my sob story, it’s more that I think you can be okay, and that you’re not doing so bad, actually. You should commend yourself for your efforts.
Take care 🙂
College degrees are getting more useless than ever. It has been predicated that a bunch of colleges will close because people will realize how useless they are. Now and days, it’s best to learn a trade or research the jobs available for the degree you go for.
I plan on getting a second degree and hopefully it’ll be useful because jobs for it are available. Another thing is to have that professional attitude to get it. Most college graduates lack it. It’s easier said than done to have it.
I’m sorry, this happened to you.
There are no good jobs where I am. I have also thought most colleges are meaningless except for Ivy League and trade schools hence I have not attended. Anyway, I thought you posted about a date you set on here prior? What is the job you are getting second degree for? Change plans?
Information Technology Systems (Networking) not getting my hopes up about it. Still setting up to go to the group home, but can still get a degree at the same time. I really have no social skills to get a job anyway.
I have a friend who studied (and works with) that. Softly-spoken guy. It pays quite well. And I should think there would be jobs for the foreseeable future.
