If you are actually in Philly, try Sunday Rescue Mission (or something like that) or one of the recovery houses. The guys can really use the help and you can have a place to hang out and heal and figure things out. There are some big churches in philly that can make more suggestions than this. It’s not the end unless you want it to be and you shouldn’t have to go scared.
There’s this place, too, which could probably assist you directly or with suggestions:
House of Adonai; 5031 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19124;
Phone: (215) 288-4442
Thanks for the info, but I know what I have to do….I am so tired and alone. I use to be a well educated professional, now I am 1 day away from being homeless….
I get it, probably more than you think. I’ve got my plans, too (oxy, fent, hydro, xanax, cycloben).
Just want you to know there are other options if you wanted them. If you are in philly, have a real philly cheesesteak for me, I never went to Pat’s or (what’s the other one?)
Thank you again…. I know I could change my mind, but in the end I will still be miserable without a place to call home… so I guess this is really out of my hands now. Thnx!
I get the sense you are still young..I don’t want to sound hypocritical.. but if you have any kind of current stability.. try. I have to admit I had some great years in between… Your words are very sincere and succinct – a quality most people lack these days. Take care…
Philly, I wish I could wave a magic wand for you. I have a feeling I can relate to some of your story. It’s been over 10 years since I had a “real” job. (Not unemployed or retail minimum wage jobs.)
Homelessness can be temporary. Can you find emergency housing? Some safe place until you can figure out where to go next?

Nothing wrong with being alone on the streets. I am thinking about making a career there.

The other place is Geno’s… Both actually suck and are just tourist traps. The real sandwiches are at the mom and pop delis around town…
Really? Too funny. Well have one for me, if you feel like it. I’m not far behind you. Peace, man.
No one’s going to think less of you if you change your plans.
