Means I’ll just say a couple of words and walk away. That way I can say I’m a good person and I said something nice to you. But I don’t care to actually DO anything to help you. Nooooo. I will do absolutely nothing to actually help you.
One of the most irritating and meaningless words out there.

There is only one thing I can say to your post…. “AMEN!” LOL!
People aren’t that way with just mental illness. Look at what happened with Puerto Rico. All the damn politicians said “I’ll pray for you” but none of them actually did a damn thing to actually help- until they faced public outcry and sent food and things- WEEKS later. PR is STILL without electricity. Look at TX and Florida. They got help but fuck Puerto Rico right? I’m not Puerto Rican but I’m just giving an example.
People say “I’ll pray for you” to absolve themselves from having to actually lift a finger. It’s sick and pisses me off. Oh it’s not just politicians. People donated tons to TX and FL but most didn’t care to help out PR at all.
“I’ll pray for you” = I won’t do a damn thing but saying that will make people THINK I’m a good person and that I care.
It’s that way with everything, with all situations. One of the most phoniest lines ever.
Well, a televangelist just proclaimed that God hates America because we have uncensored internet peep shows. I really hope that guy’s advice is just to pray about it. I wouldn’t mind that.
I pray for people, but it’s usually after I’ve done everything else I can do.
James 2:14-17 addresses this, actually. Any Christian who prays for people without actually trying to help them ought to read those two verses.
I wish more “Christians” would read those verses. There are so many religious people who spout all kinds of things, but rarely practice any of the stuff they say. It seems people just talk outta their a**** these days. Full of hot air.
Hardly anyone does anything to help people anymore. Kudos to you for being one of the few decent people then.
