My husband completed suicide with an exit bag. He used ******** gas and taped a clear plastic bag around his neck. He tucked the hose into the bag, I don’t believe he taped it inside.
However I saw the scene photos. There’s a hole in the bag. Fairly big. Does this mean he tried to stop? The bag also looks loose at the bag, either like he pulled it out from under the tape, or maybe this happened after he died.
Could the bag have burst due to pressure?
I know he set it to 15 lpm. He researched it very well, so I’m sure he wouldn’t have made the bag airtight, though it’s possible. I also know the tank was empty when he was found.
Does this mean he tried to stop? Or did the hole happen after he passed out?
The only other possibility is that the paramedics made the hole but I can’t see why. I just want to know if he suffered, or if he tried to stop.

paramedic made the hole…… with the bag you die in seconds he couldnt have changed his mind respect his choice please
This type of death (hypoxia) is widely regarded to be painless. I have personally experienced hypoxia, as a pilot, and it was utterly painless. So many variables about the hole. Can you tell us about the shape of the hole?
Bursting would have been most most unlikely.
Im so sorry that he left you like this….. just know he is in a better place….
Why do you think he did it????
Sorry for your loss but I’m also glad to know that this method can work for anyone who is in dire need of suicide and can get euthanasia.
I’m extremely cautious when it comes to suicide methods-from what I’ve read most of them are not reliable unless there is some great risk involved (guns, falls, etc) and even those aren’t always 100% and the aftermath can be terrible if you survive it.
However from the research I’ve done, I would personally go with hypoxia, via N2. They are using it now for animal euthanasia now and have found it to be fairly quick and painless. The more I’ve heard about it, the more confident I’ve grown in this method so should I ever feel the need to ‘go’ this would be it.
The only challenge is getting the inert gas or N2. I have my own ideas but I won’t share here because if too many people use it, they’ll find a way to ban or regulate it-which will close that option. However it isn’t hard to figure out, people can do their research.
I remember reading your first post and looking into this method. Suffering or struggling are highly unlikely. I think he had everything covered. I doubt he suffered physically.
