I really do the world might be a better place. Men don’t have to suck up to women and women don’t have to fear rape. Maybe our gender differences will disappear because we wouldn’t have any sexual characteristic.
We can always hope that the world might be a better place. Many people work very hard, some very privately and some very publicly, to improve our living conditions on this earth. Yet I doubt very much that they can end the evils of people upon people and the problems within people to a humane level for all on this earth.
Well having kids is 100% a personal choice. In order to have kids doesn’t mean you have to screw like rabbits 7 days a week for hours at a time.
If you want a kid but don’t like the act you can get invetro with your partner or with a donor.
Otherwise the population is already way too high and I understand some people are very gifted so their kids would be a boon to the world, other people just boned without protection and aren’t very gifted/talented. If you are gifted, I think having kids is a good thing but you have to remember the world isn’t a very nice place all the time and sometimes very cruel. You can have a happy family, but will the world be happy with you/for you? Odds are you can be happy together but the world won’t know who you are and still treat you as desolate beings.
Predators must be lonely/ bored/ taunting/ cruel.
Just the type thing the world does
Nah, I don’t attract boyfriends just men who want to screw me. Probably because of my low self-esteem so it makes me an easy target. When I do have a kid, I’ll find a good donor with gifted genes.
Gifted parents or not, the sexual assault rates in the US give me pause about about reproduction in the first place. It is thought that 1 of every 6 females will experience an attempted or completed rape. It is thought that 1 in 30 males will experience an attempted or completed rape. A cruel irony about rape of males is that a male in college is 10 times more likely to be raped than a man who isn’t.
Then there are those congenital defects. I don’t have stats for that but I sure know and have known plenty of people who are suffering a lifetime with them.
I reproduced once. Never again. I have seen the suffering happen to her and her’s that I so hoped would not.
To DOA: Yep. And that is only one of the risks you would be taking on their behalf. There are so many risks automatically imposed on offspring. Sure: priests, doctors, judges, all such, would hold you absolutely guiltless if you reproduced and your child turned out to be afflicted but you would know even more pain if it was your decision to set that ball in motion. Guilt is nothing to trifle with.
I did this once, once too often.
I would love to agree— unfortunately, the idea of having a child budding off of some random body part as we began the magical process of mitosis making it impossible to use a backrest due to fears of suffocating the baby growing out of your back is not the most pleasant one.
Than again, it’s an image I much prefer that image to the concept of sexual abuse or assault. So yeah, I’ll second the slightly disturbing mitosis proposal.
Maybe the baby would grow where it always had in the belly, but I guess it won’t work since other asexual species don’t grow their clones in the belly. The downside would that humans wouldn’t be able to evolve.
Well, that wasn’t written with anything close to the clarity and grammatical care that I typically attempt to put into a post. Ah well. Point is, no matter how disturbing the idea of a person going through the process of mitosis, it’s better than sexual assault.
100% agree. The best way to prevent human suffering is not to reproduce. At some level people are catching on. In 1950 an average US woman would produce almost 4 children. Now the ladies here will average about 1.8 children, they tell us. I like to think of all the suffering this has saved.
The quickest way to end the cycle of suffering is to stop having babies. Unless you believe this world is a joy and life is a gift, I don’t see any reason to spawn more humans.

A meteor hitting the earth would do the trick. Just a thought. Predators suck.

This x100.
One of the reasons I refuse to reproduce is that I do not want to take the risk of passing the genes for my mental illness onto my offspring.

Humans suck. If they all died out I wouldn’t care. It would be a good thing anything. Prevent more suffering.

On the first comment of this post I should have said “…. gigantic meteor…”.
*anyway not anything.

More humans = more suffering. Always happy to see fertility rates dropping as they are.
