I’m not depressed.
But I have a friend on the other side of the world and she needs me more than ever every day. Yet I cannot be there for her and it irks me so much.
I can only comfort her with little sweet nothings by text, but words like that will eventually dry up into meaningless letters on a screen.
What do I do? what can I say? I want to understand. I want to help her see the world better every morning. For people who suffer Depression… what is the strongest hope that another human can do to lift you? Please.

Can you suggest this site to them?
Can I be honest with you… A depressed individual can only feel not fepressed when they decide they take their fate in their own hands. You can talk until your blue in the face to your friend but words do lose their menaing when over used and sadly they eventually will. Your friend needs to ride out their depression- hopefully in a comfortable and nonharming way- in order to get it out. But if that doesn’t work. I suggest telling your friend to start a journal and in that journal write down one good thing that happened to them that day- small or big, doesn’t matter. Do this for a year and when they look back at maybe the worst year of their life they can see that it wasn’t that bad. Also, this allows them to look through another lersepctive which is what depressed individuals have a hard time doing. This is coming from someone who suffered with crippling depression for years and still does. I hope this is helpful and that your friend sees better days sweetie 🙂
