Only those people who are lucky & fortunate in life who can loudly say that life is a gift. The reality is, not everyone is fortunate. In fact, most people on this planet live in pain & sufferings just barely enough to survive. And then, even if people live in the first-world developed countries like in U.S or Europe for example, there are ironically still people who are depressed, and even suicidal/commit suicide. If life is a gift, like most people nowadays keep saying, then why all those reality exist? The only answer I can think of is: it is human’s nature perhaps for (most) human beings to always want to keep surviving (the survival mechanism), and therefore, they need the optimism bias (especially the most prevalent today with all those motivational & self-help industry); even if it’s at the cost of ignorance (“Ignorance is bliss”), simple-mindedness, naivety, being oblivious, selfish, shallow, superficial, and lacking empathy (in deep way), and honestly speaking, stupidity.

I keep thinking of rats, when rats overpopulate they will self destruct and start destroying each other or even killing themselves by jumping off cliffs. Humans are overpopulated so maybe we’re just the ones that drew the short straw to save the race as a whole.
Random things I think about, probably not accurate but it makes me feel less crazy sometimes if I believe being suicidal is an instinct. Lol

I was trying to think of any thing else to add, but I think you got this one! Right, life is a ton of pain for anyone, everyone. How people ignore this is inscrutable. Seeing the big picture, not just “look at me”, reproduction is inscrutable.
Totally agreeing with your post.
I read somewhere back a bit ago that that notion of life being a gift for some can be equated to a car being “given” to someone where the person the car is being given to is responsible for the car insurance, maintenance, the driving, and the loan payments when in fact the person didn’t want the car in the first place.
No one asks for life, at least to my understanding. But yet we are to be appreciative of it and are considered mentally ill for somehow simply not wanting it.
We all die in the end. The journey of life is pointless. Not everyone wants life.

This is so well written. I am just going to touch on each point. 1.) Yes we do. 2.) It may or may not be. 3.) So very true. So I am not omniscient but to ere on the side of safety, I think birth control is human kindness on the highest level most of the time.
Stop being positive wtf is this shit.
