In the future, you three need to be wary of escalating things. The posts you three made were less than productive, to put it lightly, and created an atmosphere of heightened drama on a suicide support site of all places.
A few years back there was a user who spammed the site with fetish porn and gore scenes from horror movies till the homepage was filled with it. When they first joined they seemed relatively alright, albeit a bit strange even for this site; then they seemingly spiraled and started doing the above mentioned spamming. There was another user who used to, routinely, make posts threatening the life of a specific user and the lives of her family. He used to make new accounts every month or so to avoid his ban and to continue his rants. And there have been many others possessing varying degrees of malice, but they were all dealt with without theatrics.
On the other hand, there was a user on this site who used to write elaborate stories about Pokemon; their comments also always referenced Pokemon. On the surface, this seemed like gibberish, but it wasn’t. This was the only way that this person felt comfortable, or was even able, to convey their thoughts and feelings with this site. How would each of you react to that person’s posts, or comments on one of your posts? Just reflect on that question, I’m not looking for answers.
I know Postal/etc wrote weird and creepy comments and was duly banned a few times now. That issue is done and dealt with, and will be dealt with if anything else pops up. But remember that this site has a wide range of people with a wide range of issues. Not everyone will write things that are clear and concise, or that will even make sense. And not everyone will be pleasant or agreeable. I’m sure the three of you know that mental anguish has the potential to distort what one puts out into the world, and how one sees things.
I’m sorry if users (me included) publicly pointing out an issue because it went untouched for so long came off as “theatrics” to you, but a lot of people aren’t the type to sit around and allow punches to be thrown at them. Especially if you’re someone like me who’s spent most of their life being other people’s punching bag.
Also, it’s not about things being clear and concise. It’s not about the way she rambled. People ramble all the time, and thought streams rarely make any sort of consistent sense. It’s about the fact that the person in question continued to hound people, she continued to make increasingly inappropriate, offensive, and triggering comments, and she continued to overstep boundaries time after another.
I’m sorry, could you clarify a little bit? I’m a little confused. Which comment thread(s) are you referring to? Where did I call you a loon (or something similar)? I don’t really use labels like “crazy”.
I haven’t labeled anyone anything just because I’m “offended”, instead I have made it clear when my boundaries were being pushed. And to my knowledge, I’m not the only person who has experienced this here. I consider myself rather patient. People get 2 chances from me before I start losing my patience.
Again, apologies for the questions, but who are you? I’m not entirely sure who you are and I don’t recognize your username. I’m missing a bit of context so it makes it hard to form a coherent response.
And abandoned? I guess what this person put them through was ‘theatrics’? There’s the random posting which was one thing but telling straight up lies about someone and trolling them/causing them stress for months is something completely different.
