The way to deal with a narcissist, for anyone wondering, is to ask them questions. Questions that reveal how empty they are. None of that turn the other cheek crap. Just keep your cool and be nice and keep asking questions and watch them get flustered. It’s how you turn the mirror back on the narcissist.

Identifying them in the first place can be downright difficult. Count yourself fortunate indeed to be able to spot them. I attended group therapy for victims of narcissists for about a year to get a handle on identifying them. They are so persuasive but that is because they are so empty in the first place that they can only hope to hook you before you realize what they are.
Not to be rude but the only thing I thought of when I read this comment was “Yeah, okay buddy”. The notion that you’d need a class to identify a narcissist to me is so absurd yet of course I wasn’t always like this. I’ve actually got screenshots of one I found recently, although I already know most wouldn’t believe they’re a narc and would instead make excuses and rationalizations for their actions based on the context, label me as overreacting etc..
I could not have said it better myself: “…although I already know most wouldn’t believe they’re a narc and would instead make excuses and rationalizations for their actions based on the context, label me as overreacting etc..” Even a year into the group therapy I was still learning anew just how adept at deception narcissists are and the broad range of levels and many traits they have. Even ones that may not be diagnosable can cause some significant pain.
