I can sum up my entire justification for being as I am in this one clip, because I happen to believe that you can either be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant, and Jimmy Stewart got it right, pleasant is the better way to go
He spends the entire movie in a sort of wonderful indifference to everyone who talks to him, I’d like to be that way, sometimes I succeed.
Harvey is the only movie I know of that’ll always make me smile, and sometimes bask in the silly thought that by being more interested in rabbits than in people, Jimmy Stewart has mastered his life in a way I think we should all aspire to.

I am the same… I also wish I could be oh so pleasant…
I’d rather be very wealthy; that way I can say F* you to everyone.
I was once very nice/pleasant, and that got be absolutely nowhere, except maybe to be taken advantaged of.
Being smart has also not gotten me anywhere in life. There is no meritocracy in America anymore.
So I take neither. I’d rather be handed wealth/money. The end result is we want a happy easy life right? That’s the fastest route. Obviously it’s not guaranteed but it certainly helps.
Being poor but smart and nice and pleasant did DIDDLY SQUAT for me.
