I’d hoped I got some people to binge watch Hill House for spooky season, but that would be a positive development, when did you last see one of those?
jk, sorta, I got my food stamps removed, yay eating. well, more accurately yay no foodbanks, man foodbanks suck
It’s a busy weekend over here, wife’s birthday then Halloween. I’m really enjoying the quiet for now because the next two days are going to be busy.
IDK, feeling kind of empty. Managed to finish doing a major cave in Sons of the Forest, something else I recommend for spooky season. I’m not going to finish all my spooky movies and shows in time, so next year I need to start at the beginning of September.
Oh, my two to four weeks waiting for my disability application to update has turned into 11. Is it a bad sign? good sign? I’m not even sure I believe in signs anymore, it’s just another thing. Anyway, back to Hill House for me, I keep having to take breaks to watch comedy.
why’d u get FS removed? they deemed u made too much $$?
would be nice if all my food costs were covered.
hell, would be nice if i got 5k/mo USD guaranteed for life.
would sure eliminate a lot of stress and life problems.
nah it was just renewal, every six months like clockwork (though I swear it feels like 3). This time they came in heavy with the scare tactics about work requirements, which are a thing, but I’m guessing since they have access to my medical records they know what a waste of paperwork it would be to go after me for it.
is it really 5k a month? I just checked and SSDI maxes out at $3600 a month, but to qualify for that I would have to have worked 5 out of the last ten years, and I just don’t know if I did. SSI comes to $900 a month (ish) so we’ll see how far that’ll go. Once I get free of this mortgage and this godforsaken city, it could amount to quite a bit. RN, a little more than half of my monthly bills.
@heartlessviking You’re playing Sons of the Forest? How is it? The original one fucked me up for a while because I’m not good with horror games at all but it’s enough action and story where the freaky stuff wasn’t as bad…
@eternaldarkness hello there. I’d hug you if I could.
it’s still a work in progress, they haven’t brought over everything from the original game, like boats
for where it is in development, it’s good. I don’t have a lot of horror games I like, but this and the original are exceptions. The weapons and build system in particular has improved a lot, adding in guns, stone building and a much improved crafting system.
Most of all though, it’s more playable. First game, I had to jack with the settings to be able to see in caves, and when I did it took out all the dark corners. In this one there’s better native lighting in caves, and the character lighting is better too. Also the map is huge, I find myself breaking it into bits; for the last few days I’ve been progressing a cave at a time. I finished the game really early, but since I last progressed through it there are new guns, new caves, etc. Also, I finished it on super easy, now I’m trying it on normal and it is kicking my butt. In a good way though, I don’t seem to enjoy games that are any kind of easy to play, though I’m not a Dark Souls masochist (yet.)
First game and this one; once you get mid game and have most of the equipment, most of the ghoulies are manageable. I like survival games, but only with good stakes. The stakes are really good. OH and real seasonal progression, summer there is tons of food, easy environment, but winter is brutal.
the story is, a little less so far. The first one the isolation really got to me, not this one. They give you an AI companion up front, with the possibility to gain another. I still want to play it with friends, see if it is as fun that way as the previous game.

renewed, not removed….. one of my relatively rare typing errors
there was a whole thing about them sending it out last minute, they told me I had until October 5th, the letter arrived on the 15th

oh lol, i meant i would *like* to get 5k/mo. i wish. it would make a whole lot of difference if i did. 5k/mo for life. it would mean freedom. sigh.
