Let me ask a question to all of you: Are you tired of the board game called life? Are you running on empty after being emotionally, mentally and physically-drained by this one-player game set at the highest difficulty with no save points? I wish I could quit because playing “humanity: the game” stopped being fun over ten levels ago and there is no way I see myself getting to level 100, let alone 50…
Sorry for the gaming reference, some of my favorite gaming youtubers retired this month and it’s causing my depression to weigh like a ton. Game Theory won’t be the same without MatPat…

I’m still searching for that ever elusive exploit. All games have at least one, because having rules introduces the kind of pattern that cries out to be exploited. Whether it’s counting cards, fiddling with game files or a strategic bluff, one only has to find it.
I’ve always been able to make people underestimate me, that usually sets a ripe oppertunity for exploits.
the exploit is being born with money >.<
you’re close, being born to wealth and status count for a lot, but what really either sets you up or ruin you are your associations, the people you know. You have to find worthwhile allies, if you want any degree of power, and security is just another expression of power.
The problem for me so far is that the allies I’ve been offered have been way too corrupt. That’s a fool’s bargain; today they might give you a leg up, but they’re just as likely to pull everyone they know down with them.
but, I still think it’s possible there are worthwhile people out there. The trick is getting in the place to meet them.
being born into money IS how these ppl make connections. ppl who are not on the same economic ladder rarely get to meet. the rich and powerful have their own circle. hell, we’re not even talking the 1%, even the top 10% is hard to meet/know if we’re in the 90%. we’re not in the same social circles as they are.
Considering my grandfather couldn’t do the majority of the community-based projects that he did without the help of my grandmother’s connections that she gained from working so many jobs, Viking has a point, Darkness. Granted, my grandfather still got betrayed in the end but that was more due to corrupted human nature.
i’m not saying @viking doesn’t have a point, i’m saying the exact opposite, i agree that connections ARE vital. but what allows us the opportunities to make those connections? MONEY.
ex. many wealthy ppl go golfing or hang out in fancy country clubs. if you have the money to join, you can try to schmooze and try to make connections. but if you don’t have the $50,000 to join a country club, you’re not even in the same area to meet rich ppl to make the connections.
Feels like I was forced to sit at this game against my will. With my dispositions and ‘talents’ there’s no place in this game for me. And whatever skills and dispositions bring success in the game are an absolute desecration of what it means to be alive.
I believe most people would flip the board over before birth if they knew waht was coming, most of us are only still playing because there is nothing else.
the “game” called life is fucking rigged. who you’re born to, where you’re born, and how much money you’re born into determines 90% of your life. there is very little escape if you’re unfortunate enough to be born the bottom 50%, especially the bottom 20%.
lol MatPat- is he the Food Theory guy? have watched lots of his fast food videos lol
Ouch, and to think I was starting to like you, too, Darkness… You go and say blasphemy like that disregarding his over a decade-long time as a youtuber. Granted, I only discovered him 8-9 years ago through his original channel, game theory.
“I wish I could quit because playing “humanity: the game” stopped being fun over ten levels ago”
>I never knew what “fun” even was. Never had a good childhood. 🙁
>This game of life is just shit.
