As mentally ill. Similar to the way an alcoholic won’t or can’t admit he is an alcoholic and if pulled up about about it reacts with hostility ” what the fuck are you talking about, Im not an alcoholic, I can stop any time I want”. That type of attitude. Suicidal depression and the delusions that accompany it are a form of mental illness, particularlty the delusions. The fucking delusions I was under when I was younger. I was in therapy when I was 22 and one day the following conversation took place ” Perhaps your seeing someone?” Said the female therapist. ” No, I can’t, I have no experience, I’d be so bad, compared to a guy picking up women since the age of 15, spinning women around the dancefloor, what if you can’t do that?” I said ” spinning women around the dancefloor, what an imagination you’ve got, experience doesn’t matter if there is an emotional connection” she said ” No, I can’t do it, I have no experience, women are perfect, Im not perfect, Im not good enough, not that way” I said. ” These are delusions, the way you view women is all wrong, you’re not listening” she said. ” yeah but would a womanizer not be better, I have no experience, would Warren Beatty not be better, the only experience I have is Kiss- chasing” I said. ” Kiss-chasing, god you’re taking me back, you’re not listening, I as a woman would not like a womanizer, the way you think about women is all wrong” she said. I continued with those delusions until I finally got a girlfriend at 24 but by then more delusions had replaced those earlier delusions. I should have went back to that therapist and apologised. If you want the truth about yourself pay attention to objective opinions.

“Mentally Ill” is a term the medical industrial complex gives ppl so they can legally put us on drugs for life and profit off of us. We are NOT mentally ill. I mean, if you’re seeing people/objects/physical things that aren’t there, then yes that is mentally ill.
But having depression is not “mentally ill.”
-If someone is depressed bc they’re lonely, is it an illness? Or just loneliness?
-If someone has health issues and is depressed af about constantly being sick and unable to do stuff, am I “mentally ill” or just a natural response to constantly being sick?
-If someone has a sh*t boss or coworkers and is depressed, is that person “mentally ill”?
-If someone is poor, makes crap pay at work, can’t afford most things, lives in a crappy place, and s/he is depressed, is that person “mentally ill”? If a girl gets r*ped/SA and now is depressed and now don’t want to be near men, is she “mentally ill” or just responding to trauma?
Suicidal depression is NOT a form of mental illness. Yes, that’s what Big ****** labels it, but can you trust an multi BILLION dollar industry to not lie to us just so they can make billions more?
If a boy gets r*ped at 12 and feels shame/suicidal/depressed since then, is he “mentally ill”? No, that’s a normal response to extreme sh*t happening to us.
Depression is a NORMAL response to all these things- yet we’re told WE are “mentally ill” and defective and need medication- which juuuust coincidentally, makes them tons and tons of $$$.
Idk your particular case. Maybe you have other issues. Maybe you have hallucinations. Idk. Just saying for the majority of us here on SP, most of us have depression that stems from a sh*tty life and depression is just a NORMAL response. If we all magically had what we needed- love, support, health, enough money, etc- most of us wouldn’t be suicidal or depressed.
Maybe you’re one of those ppl who can have “everything” and still feel suicidal. Then maybe you are “mentally ill.” But by far, most ppl who are depressed/suicidal are missing key facets in their life and if they got what they needed, they would not be suicidal/depressed. And that is absolutely normal.
If the ppl here managed to get a good gf/bf, get more money, live in a better place without sh* neighbors, get better health, etc- most, MOST of us would be less depressed.
Again, idk about your particular case- but most of us here are responding normally to a sh*t life.
You’d be surprised at how much having a loving SO, loving family, good job, good apt/house, good health, good coworkers/boss, makes. If someone doesn’t have all that, ofc they’re going to be depressed. Does that make us mentally ill? No.
There are ofc some ppl who are mentally ill- i’m just saying most ppl who have depression are just having a normal response to a crap life. And again, idk your particular situation or all your mental issues. Maybe you are mentally ill, maybe you’re not, idk. But most ppl who have depression/suicidal thoughts are just responding normally to trauma or a sh*t life.
