That thing, is toilets, or actually, chamber pots.
So our idiot president decided to renovate the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House, spending tax payer money on a stupid project while millions starve during a government shutdown he created which is a whole other rant. The point is that he redid it in white marble with gold accents, and his claim was that this was more close to what Lincoln would have had than what was there before.
For the record, what was there before was an art deco bathroom put in in the 1940s when modern plumbing was introduced to the White House.
So you know what was there before?
Chamber pots.
So you know what should be there now? Fucking chamber pots, if you’re going to be faithful to what Lincoln had, the first Republican who was more of a Republican than Trump could be in his wildest of wet dreams, you’d have chamber pots. That’s what the people of the White House relieved themselves in when Lincoln was in residence. Lincoln used the Lincoln bedroom as his office and he used chamber pots because that was the height of plumbing tech at the time apparently.
You didn’t renovate the bathroom to be more faithful to Lincoln, you did it because you’re a fat man baby who loves to destroy the history of the building you spend a very small part of your presidency in. He’s destroyed the East Wing. Will there be chamber pots in those bathrooms? That would be faithful to the will of Lincoln if that is holy to the will of the Republican party, but it isn’t, is it? The Republican party is more about sex offenders and hurting poor people now, Lincoln would be horrified. Where are my chamber pots he’d scream! You took my chamber pots, you scar my poor, you deface my constitution, and for what? White marble and gold accents?!

I don’t really want the chamber pots back, but I do think he’s a fat idiot who shouldn’t be president. His reasoning is also so flimsy that this alone could set off the 25th ammendment. What a waste of taxpayer funds on a stupid project.
Also, every single “news” article in the written press seems to be sucking the administration off about this, pretending that this project IS faithful to the will of Lincoln when it so obviously isn’t. There are no chamber pots, and the decor would be much more humble becuase Lincoln wasn’t one for spending a lot of money on stuff like bathrooms, he just wasn’t. There was a war going on for most of his time in office remember.
There wouldn’t be modern sinks either, while we’re on this rant, there would have been wash basins and water would have had to be hauled from a well. Go back to that, have fun with that logistics in the modern White House. I’m betting he put in heated towel racks, electricity, and many other things that didn’t exist at the time of Lincoln. It would have had to be lit by some sort of fueled lamps or candles, and forget your electric shavers and hair dryers and what not, heated towel racks and so on.
Just more proof that Trump has never renovated a building himself, because if he had he’d know what goes into a wall….. I know I’m off on a tangent now and I don’t care. The walls at that time weren’t designed like walls now they didn’t have drywall and modern framing for pity sake. It was decades before alternating or direct current. The best lighting in the world was gas lamps and I don’t think they had those in the US at that time. Indoor plumbing was very early days even then. Some houses had it, sure, but apparently not the White House, which shows how hard the Civil War hit the US.
I think they had it in Europe, for the very wealthy in urban areas. The infrastructure didn’t exist for it to be widespread for decades.
I wanted to be a history teacher for a long time, I’m still quite a bit of a history nerd, and the fact that so many people are so illiterate in what actually was going on in the 18th century, which wasn’t that long ago is really sad to me. You spend a lot of time on the toilet, think about it next time you do, and also think about that our nation’s leader is a fat idiot who doesn’t understand the history of anything at all.

Our current sitting president is the antithesis of everything good. Everyday I wake up and hear more dumb stuff from him, about how he’s gonna take away benefits from needy Americans, and yet, somehow, people cheer it on, as if they don’t have more in common with the struggling American than the stupidly rich billionaires taking government programs away from us. Sure, on surface level it’s a bit silly to be ranting about toilets, but it’s well within your right to point out.

NOT to help the middle class. oh no. BILLIONS sent to Ukraine and Venezuela and Israel. ZERO money to Americans who are hungry.
do these idiots think the rich give 2 fucks about them? the middle class is used to siphon money upwards to the wealthy. in return, we get NOTHING- no more pensions, no job security, lousy pay, longer hours, cut safety net programs. oppose min wage increases. the stupidity goes on and on.
Fun Fact- Toilets, or rather modern plumbing, is the #1 REASON why ppl live so long now. It is the single reason why life expectancy is so high. Before flushable toilets, ppl died due to disease and whatnot. So toilets are not “a silly thing.”
