for depressed people to look forward to?
Me- I personally wouldn’t mind if a plasma burst erupted from the sun and vaporized us all. In fact, I welcome it.
I don’t find this world worth living in, especially not when you’re poor or disabled or have shit family. What is there too look forward to when your life is broken, and society is broken?

Yeah, I feel you. I’ve gotten to the point where I just can’t care anymore. If my best friend tried right now to smash my head into a wall until my skull shattered, I would sit back and let them. I would try to help them if possible. There’s just no point anymore.
Hell yea if the sun randomly flared and cooked us, or if a meteor came out of nowhere and punched a hole thru the planet, those are lottery wins I’ve been dreaming of for years. I also dream of a nuke war (I’m near a major city so I’ll be the first to get melted), or maybe another virus, whether it’s human-engineered or not, is something worth looking forward to.
I kinda do want to see the extinction of all human life, not just my own random death, because at least then I might get a feeling that there is a god. No sarcasm. But I guess I’ll take death any way it comes.
Maybe that’s the “prize”? Like, that’s how we win the game after a lifetime of suffering and despair. While all the clueless head-up-their-ass happy people are shitting themselves, crying and praying to their gods “save me save me”, I’ll be dancing a jig and praying “you came at last, asshole! better late than never bruh”
Not trying to rain (more) on anyone’s parade but none of the stuff mentioned sounds like a quick / reliable way to end everything.
I think one of the biggest obstacles to solving the problem of how shitty many parts of our world is that individual memories and experiences, problems and successes, are isolated in individual silos. Most of us are somewhat intelligent and sentient yet must act selfishly or put up with stupidity in order to survive and compete and cannot escape our bodies or other limitations. Maybe self-aware AIs will be designed to have less baggage and better prospects at peace and happiness compared to humanity.
