Same boat friend, I’ve always wanted more than this world can deliver.
You know the secret to happiness? Low expectations. I mean I have a degree in psychology and it all comes down to something that simple, if you want less than you have it’s an easy hack for happiness.
Except, that runs counter to how humans work. You get dopamine going, humans are going to want more. You’d need to get a planet full of highly enlightened and intelligent people to get people really happy on a large scale, or get them under some sort of trance managed by highly enlightened and intelligent people.
So the only way to fix the problem is locally, within yourself. It’s not possible to completely remove desire and want, but decreasing it is.
I mean, it might be related to deeper problems though. Deeper emotional issues with life than just the cognitive wants and expectations require introspection and willingness to be open with oneself.
I mean this could even become a spiritual journey, scratch deep enough. Humans have layers to them, cognitive has always been the easiest for me to deal with. TBH, lots of problems can be solved logically and in the brain, but the emotional side will be stubborn and require follow up, and eventually the spiritual/philosophic as well.
Solve as solve can, where-ever you can start, that’s where you start. You’ve got to make sense of your life where ever it lets you.

Do you have any clue about what is making you disappointed or sad? It’s ok if you don’t, but knowing might help.
