Bc nothing does. Especially for us peons. Ppl like to think they’re so important, but if most ppl were to die, the world lives on and the person is forgotten in a week, if not a day.
The average person isn’t important. The average person doesn’t accomplish anything amazing. The average person doesn’t impact society. The average person is indistinguishable from the 7.8 billion others. Like a roach, if one of us was snuffed out, it would not make an ounce of difference.
Yup it’s killing a lot of us. Hard to think anything we do matters when the world is such a shambles. As if cleaning my room for the 10th time makes any difference.
It does matter. You matter. Your actions matter. Kindness matters. Compassion matters.
When we forget our own worth, when we cannot seem to find our place in this world, it seems hopeless or pointless or meaningless. But that is just us focusing on part of the picture.
The birds I fed today think my actions matter, even if it pissed off a neighbor or two.
