Hm, idk who this lady is, but she says something interesting:
“You can control who you are by what you think”
She isn’t saying the usual garbage “just think happy thoughts and you’ll be happy, easy peasy.”
I think she’s saying something a little different. I mean, if i didn’t think humans were so rotten, I wouldn’t be so miserable in this world. That much is true…but humans ARE fucking rotten. As a species. Individually, most are still shitty. You’d have to find the 1-5% of ppl who are good / compatible with you.
I wasn’t always this fucking depressed and miserable. Can I get at least get back to being “okay?”
Like I don’t think I’d ever be happy. But rn, I’d settle for ok / not miserable.

When we identify with thoughts, they feel part of us. But the truth is they are similar to body, part of nature. In former case we become like their slaves but in latter we become separate and free from them. Not necessarily completely but still very much. Once separate, it’s easier to do neuroplasticity that she talks about.
It’s true because thoughts come to us, we don’t generate them, so why should we own them or identify with them.
I remember when I used to do journaling. It used to organize my intermessed thoughts which used to clear up my head. Also would make to easy to draw relation between them and come to some conclusion. I think it used to do same thing, separating thoughts from me.
