They’re either depressed/abused/SAed/etc OR they’re psychopathic/sociopathic. The ones that are broken seem human- real- and abused. But then there’s the other portion who are more the Erika Kirk types- psychopathic, attention seekers, social climbers. THEY are the ones who are living happy grand lives. While the good ones are broken. Why are the good ones always broken? Always the abused ones?
Another story of a beautiful woman who has been abused/gaslit/depressed/lonely/feel insecure/etc. Even though on the outside, she was so beautiful and successful. One of the biggest stars back in the 90s.

Thanks for the tip, I’m going to read that book. I grew up with the ditzy Kelly Bundy but when she started taking serious roles I could tell there was some real substance there, someone who was kinda messed up but putting on a front. I felt really bad when her health just fell apart in the late 00s, like her body just gave out, cancer, then MS, a bunch of other stuff. It’s almost like you said how things just snowball and before you know it you’re disabled even though you were once a model.
Hollywood is definitely a toxic pit. That other guy, the author who killed himself, he had moved out to Hollywood when he got successful but it chewed him up. I’ve never been, but it sounds like it’s not the kind a place where you want to live. Everyone’s in therapy, everyone’s on psych meds, even the successful ones (especially them?) go batty.
Yes, I grew up in the 90s with shows like Married with Children as well. After all, We only had like seven channels back in the day lol

Yes, Hollywood is fucked up. But ppl don’t realize that EVERY fucking industry is messed up too.
For ex, nursing- all the nurses complain that the senior nurses torment the newer nurses. And that aside, they all hate their jobs. And ofc all the patients suffer bc these fucking nurses are shit. Like 95% of them are god awful. And I would know bc I’ve been in patient. Not talking about out patient nurses. It’s a whole ‘nother level of fucked up when you’re forced to be in-patient and helpless. And the ones in charge of your literal life are AHs/psychopathic.
Psychiatrists- do I need to even say anything? I’ve only met maybe 2 who were halfway decent and not absolute fucking egomaniac AHs.
Drs- good luck as a female with chronic health issues to get any Dr to take you seriously. Female patients get ignored, while male patients complaining of the same exact thing for taken seriously. And good fucking luck if you’re a non white female. Studies consistently show that minority females always get the worst medical care.

I’m in finance- or was- don’t even get me started in how AH these ppl are. Don’t get me wrong- there’s AHs in EVERY fucking industry. Too many fucked up industries to list bc well, humans are AHs, no matter what industry. But yes, some industries are worse.
Anyhow, Like I said earlier, pretty ppl- normal every day ones- not just the supermodels or actresses- all get fucked up bc they have bad ppl around them 24/7. Bad men who want to use them and bad women who are jealous b!tches who smile to your face but stab you in the back.
Yup, every industry is its own mini hell. You’re right to single out nurses & healthcare, I would say any profession that’s in the “business” of caring turns into a psycho breeding zone. It’s because any time you give 1 human the power to control another human, the way nurses control patients, the way prison wardens control prisoners, they go full tilt sadistic psycho. I guess it’s that human need to subjugate others, usually by inflicting pain since that’s the best way to control anyone.
At least in the world of cold business, say finances, stock trading or whatever, people are “controlling” inanimate objects like money and equity. They can be cruel at their job, total AHs to their colleagues, but at the end of the day it’s all just numbers. Whereas in the business of caring, these AHs are torturing human beings. Also with no accountability, no body cams, these AHs can literally kill people and get away with it like that psycho nurse Charles Cullen who murdered estimated hundreds of patients for 16 fucking years. He was “caught” several times but all they did was fire him because hospitals didn’t want a scandal, so he just moved to a different hospital.
There are many “Charles Cullens’s” out there. He isn’t the only one. Killer nurses are a THING. Kinda like killer cops. It’s no longer a rare thing. Hell, it was Probably never a rare thing, only exposed now with body cams and cell phone cams.

Oh back on the subject of Hollywood tragedies, yeah she seems pretty cool and she got a totally raw deal. Sometimes it’s hard for me to empathize with the rich and famous, but in some cases they got such a raw deal you’d have a heart of stone not to see how they didn’t deserve it.
I still feel horrible about Margot Kidder, if you’re a 90s kid you probably remember the shocker when she, the famous Lois Lane from the superman movies, vanished and turned up drunk & homeless with a bunch of teeth knocked out. The press was kinda brutal (at least those disgusting bros doing talk radio) making fun of her, but I was like holy shit, she must’ve gone thru hell to fall so hard. She made a brief comeback in acting but ended up killing herself.
