Here’s the data from Google showing that 80% of life is due to “luck” (where you’re born, who you’re born to, etc) and that only 20% is due to hard work and effort, despite how mainstream society just LOVES to drill it into our heads that it’s ALL about hard work. If you’re born in the slums of India or Africa, good luck on getting out of poverty and having a good life. Most Americans are born middle class- born into decent families with middle class income, meaning you ARE privileged.
The hardest working ppl are the POOREST ppl, NOT the rich. The people who do back breaking labour- the ppl pick our fruits, build our houses, do all the hard dirty manual work nobody wants to do- are paid THE LEAST. It’s all done by design.
The richest ppl do NOTHING but pilfer money from the coffers, ie steal it all, then transfer all the money to themselves, and hire ppl and pay them peanuts to do ALL the hard work.
The problem now is that since 9/11 and then again in 2008- the rich saw they could just outright steal and NOTHING happens to them, so they steal even harder. The result is that the masses (Americans) now can’t afford anything. 70% are living paycheck to paycheck. DONE BY DESIGN.

Great post…identifying a problem is at least a first step towards solving it. The problem is that we don’t have a ruling elite that is benevolent, looking out for the poorest class.
Everyone is out to benefit themselves. If people are in a position to rob or skim off the top, with no consequences, they will.
The heartbreaking answer here is that there is absolutely nothing we can do as individuals to change the status quo.
There are some phenomenal people out there, working hard in their own way to make the world better, fairer and kinder. I’ve even heard of some very rich people who’ve given millions and billions away to charity and to help the downtrodden.
But the capitalist system is fixed and unmovable like trying to steer a giant ocean tanker. It can be changed with the right people in power, but as you’ve mentioned here, there are people with vested interests who don’t want change because they benefit hugely from this system.
So you’re right, we better be lucky enough to be born into the right families, mid and upper to enjoy life…the rest of us will have to work like dogs to eek out a basic existence. Those below us are fukd beyond imagining, sadly.
While we acknowledge the top-down problem, it’s important not to ignore the bottom-up issue (so to speak). If we don’t get a handle on poor people having kids when they can’t afford them, it does nothing to reduce people’s suffering and it’s a drain on society’s resources as well.
It’s like a leak in a boat which you keep bailing, but nothing is solved while there’s a big hole letting in the water in…that must be fixed first.
Those of us who’ve lived through a hellish life, easily understand how bad it is to have kids in dire poverty. For poor people, sex is the only pleasure they get in the world, and they also do it because welfare gives them more money per child, keeping the vicious cycle going.
If you want to end poverty (without govt handouts), you have disincentivize the poor from reproducing…encourage or mandate sterilization, until their leave poverty and can afford to raise kids.
This is why we have euthanasia…because the world isn’t going to change to make poor people middle class overnight…when that’s what’s really needed.
Even if someone like you or I became the US president, we’d be facing millions of people against the changes we want to implement and they’d block us at every turn.
On a personal level, I believe I will be able to change my lot in life…because of the knowledge I have. It’s a gamble so until I have achieved my goal, it’s uncertain, but I’m hopeful.
Should I fail, then I’ll continue to struggle as I am today, until I get some breakthrough, either winning the lottery or finding a well paying job…but given my age, it’s unlikely.
However being in my mid 50s, there’s still some life left and I’m hoping to make the best of it…but I’m sticking to my goal of checking out/maid in my early 60s if nothing improves…this year should be pivotal for me.
What I’m most discouraged about is having lived a mostly empty life of suffering and trying to get somewhere….while others partied it up and did what most of us dreamed of doing.
This is not a life worth living…just to survive and see others have fun while you’re just trying to keep a roof over your head.
Not to say it’s all bad, there are positive moments thanks to my family/friends, but the biggest obstacle for my life has always been not enough money to truly enjoy life.
Still in a way I’m proud of myself that I didn’t “leave” sooner…I’m glad I’m there for the people I care about like my mom…and there are other things in life that keep me entertained, like music, movies, going out and so forth. You don’t have to be rich to make life still bearable.
And if in 5-10 years from now when I am more certain about ending it…and I look back and am no further ahead than I am today, I can say that luck was not on my side…but at least I tried.
I wish I had a beautiful life like the upper classes…but such is my fate. But I’m not quite there yet, and will keep plugging away and hope I find my way to a better place.
We will never get the populace to stop having so much children. Especially the poor. Especially the religious. Especially the right wing.
The problem will never fix itself. Only growing worse.
Yes, I agree with your pessimistic outlook. Exactly the wrong, worst people are having kids when they shouldn’t.
It’d take a team of very smart visionaries who want to build a utopian civilization to create a better ordered society.
So long as these retarded religions exist, they will keep churning out stupid, poor people who will suffer and cause problems for society.
Meanwhile the rich will just continue to exploit everyone and nothing will be done about it.
At least if they offered maid and abortion, then people would have some control over their lives and deths.
There is one silver lining in this dark cloud and that is that Christianity is dying off in the West and within a generation or two, they will become a minority in the US.
This might give a chance to more liberal minded people to make the changes that we would like to see.
Christianity is not dying, and they are still a HUGE majority.
“Approximately 62% to 69% of American adults identify as Christian, according to recent data from Pew Research Center and Gallup. While Christianity remains the dominant religion in the U.S., this represents a significant decline from 78% in 2007.”
It might be LESS now but at 69%, that’s still a fuckton of ppl. That is a pretty damn huge majority. It would take hundreds of years for it to “die off” if ever. And I don’t think it ever will bc there’s tons of religious ppl around the world as well.
